Bingo. Solves 99% of all roundabout problems. :)

As OBB said up above, if the white SUV had entered at the 2nd entrance instead of the cammer entrance, they could theoretically be in exactly the same place, at exactly the same time, the only difference is that they entered in a different spot.
In that particular case, they'd be perfectly fine with doing exactly what they did as far as the direction, they still probably failed to yield.

Someone is supposed to yield, and the only way to make the yield crash proof is to...NEVER ENTER a RB with traffic. I.E. then what's the point of having two lanes?

If they made them one lane we would be backed up 3 blocks long at these round abouts.

I wonder if anyone ever tried this solution........merge all the 2 lanes into 1 lane BEFORE they get to a round-a-bout. Then have only 1 lane inside the round-about. Some will say that this will cause very big backups. Then, if there are long backups, that means that there probably needs to be a 4-way traffic light installed. So, in conclusion, use round-a-bouts ( to save the cost of traffic lights) on roads with ONLY light traffic. I welcome other out-of-the-box ideas.

I would suggest, that suggestion stays in the box!

Careful who u call an idiot that maneuver is allowed in TV. However I agree if you’re in the right hand lane u should exit at first exit. Left lane vehicle has a choice. That’s the correct way to navigate a roundabout

No, that "maneuver" of going around 270 degrees in the outer lane is NOT ALLOWED, which does in fact make that driver "an idiot". You can exit from the right(outer) lane at EITHER the first or second exit. Left(inner) lane vehicle should exit at the second or third exit. No one should enter when a vehicle is in EITHER lane

That’s the correct way to navigate a roundabout

Insults?

Insults? I was merely using the OP's own language to ask him which "idiot" he was complaining about. There seemed to be plenty of blame to go around, including the guy who thought it was a good idea to film his neighbors so he could ridicule them online.

But I'm truly sorry if I came off insulting. I was going for "ironic". I guess I hoped that echoing the OP's own language might cause people to realize that it's not necessary to be insulting in order to educate (although I don't think education was what the OP had on his mind when he posted this thread about "idiots"!).

Frankly, as I've already said, I get a little tired of all the threads created for the sole purpose of complaining about our neighbors. I thought this was supposed to be "America's Friendliest Hometown".

If you are not supposed to continue around the circle from the outer lane, then why is there an arrow pointing leftward in the outer lane by the number 7 on the picture, and a dotted white line as you approach that point in the outer lane? Of course I agree with everybody else: When in the Circle, Watch Out!

For the people who entered at the 3 o'clock position and are permitted to go straight across in the right lane. Just another reason not to enter a RB if there is traffic in EITHER lane

Who did that?

Film his neighbors so he could ridicule them?

He posted a clip from his dashcam, something many people use as a form of protection.

He then simply added a voiceover to a clip that showed someone doing something stupid...

You can find dashcam videos all over youtube showing idiots being idiots...

mike234 05-17-2021 03:16 PM

you actually film people doing this?
do you also film bad parking?
do you film deed violations?
people filming other people can be dangerous....
maybe you are the one reporting bad things to the paper?

I rent my place when I'm not in TV. I keep the round about pamphlet on the hallway table and on the coffee table in the living room.

Totally wrong ! Left or inside lane is NEVER for the first exit

Not allowed by what? The law? Notice all those signs are green? That means information, not traffic law. From a legal stand point, once you are in a roundabout, does it matter where you came from?

We should all be following the green signs. But, does "not allowed" apply?
