Nope there was a church there. All of old timers know that.

Not a single time in the two years we've owned our home...

I’ll by this afternoon, in the yellow and purple golf cart - I’m selling encyclopedias.
I think I look honest.

When things close, it's usually because the person operating the business is not successful, either through mismanagement or changing market conditions impact.

They use to post jobs on The Villages web site. So wouldn’t they be the operators of the theatres?

I stated "as I remember". I don't know which department is responsible for negotiating with the distributors and meeting the distributing requirements since the District charts don't show that detail and we aren't privy to all the Companies that the Morse's own, are Board members to, or participate in. Might be a third party connection. In any event, no required profit, bye bye.

Wow! I can recall the concrete walls of the theatre being put in place. The theatre was the first structure in Brownwood to be built. To see it “rise” from the flat landscape in such a short time was an amazing sight.

Sad to see it go. But I guess the pandemic killed people’s interest in going out to the movies. Can you recall the long lines of people surrounding the theatre to get tickets to Star Wars releases?

I just hope it’s not more apartments, but if they generate profits, that may be what’s considered.

If I was single and they built apartments at that location I would be first in line to sign a lease.

In time this will continue offering fewer venues for the residents to enjoy the lifestyle that was created by the originator of The Villages "Harold Schwartz to attract buyers.

Wish all residents the best with less.

QUOTE=phassett;2182330]Taking a walk to the square this morning, I saw a message posted on the ticket window that the theater is permanently closed. I'd like to think it would be repurposed for something to benefit the villagers.

Do you ever stop to think that he’s posting because of his disappointment with the current Villages compared to what The Villages was ten years ago? Maybe he misses what should have been.

How about some creative responses once in awhile vs these shots at posters. This is a forum after all.

Dumb posts deserve and get shots.
People who moved away because hate of the Developer do not need to return to TOTV and complain. The made the decision their Village experience is over.
Your concern about my posts, is duly noted………..
