The Developer’s business model is second to none. What surprises me it is not copied by others as much as one would think. They build, we buy and we maintain. Isn’t this a great country or what?

The new windmill has yet to be erected at the square.

Hmmm… I’m pretty sure we saw it at the square a couple days ago.

Ahhh…the goal was to make it look like it would have in 1880. The color pallet was pretty sparse back then. You might applaud them for ATTEMPTING to be historically correct, rather than complaining. Just a thought.

The water tower base is made of corten steel and that is the natural color of it. It will rust on the outside making a protective layer to protect the rest of the steel.

that water tower is so ugly , rust orange ?? and the wind mill gray. whos in charge??

It looks like they used my suggestion of buying the windmill base from the manufacturer of the actual windmill. The gray is probably galvanized steel.

Are you implying you have a direct comm pipeline to "The Developers?"

They do have people assigned to monitor social media.

Ultimately TV residents pay in one way or another. So enjoy.

If you know where the money came from, stop with the 100 question game and tell us.

I believe the Villages is an HOA. If so, the replacement of the water tower and windmill should be under reserves and part of your monthly maintenance fees. They would not appear under the operating budget. If they follow F.S. 720 they must replace those items or get a vote of TVI to do away with them. One day I will look into the governing docs. (One day when I am extremely bored). OK, I was bored, so I looked into it. There are very few areas of the Villages where the documents filed show it as a created HOA. There are a couple, but not many areas. Now I am curious as to what (if any) association TV is/are. In SS there are condos and there is a Declaration of Condo filed. This would mean that they fall under Florida Statutes 718. The size and multitude of secondary associations would make auditing or even managing them great fun (Finance people are a strange lot with a warped sense of fun).

The source of the funds has been covered several times in these threads, including this one.

I have no desire to play any game, I was simply pointing out that a statement was incorrect. Just like a statement that the Villages is an HOA would be incorrect.

The Resident Academy is an excellent resource for learning how your local government actually works.

Maybe he’s one of those people on site that complain about food and prices at restaurants they don’t eat in , golf course conditions they don’t play on ,and squares they never visit

 Do yourself a favor and take the advice given and attend a
Resident Academy. It is good advice and I'm sure meant to be helpful. You don't seem to understand how the Villages operates. I'm guessing you may not live here.

That just may be a pretty good guess.
