Default Competitive Market Electric Choice

I hope someone out there is knowledgeable about electric company choice. We live in District 13 and are currently being billed by Leesburg Electric for our electric and gas. Is there a way to switch over to Duke or SECO? We would rather our money go to Sumter than Lake county for utilities.

My understanding is that in Florida there is a choice program for natural gas suppliers but not for electric suppliers.

As far as providers there is no choice for either gas or electric since the infrastructure to your house is owned by the provider for your locality.

Florida is NOT a deregulated state where you can choose you electric provider.
