How does that change the point that what one hears from the sales agents quite often does not come to pass? No "blame" for the developer doing what developers do. |
We visited a COSTCO while up in MA. I was not impressed. Mostly the same things (and prices) as Sam's Club. Yes, you will be able to get to COSTCO by golf cart, but that's about it. I know people love it, and that's OK. We also went into a Buc-ees on the same trip for the first time. Not a place I would bother with again, but, like COSTCO, people love it.

Retal businesses want to be in a location that has high traffic flow. No smart businessman is going to build a retail facility on the outer edge of a town on a dead end street that no one knows where it is. A lot of people going out for a meal might see the Costco store and decide to stop in to get a few items. If it was on that dead end street on the outer edge of town, they wouldn't think about taking the time to drive there. Visibility! If you aren't seen, you don't get as much business. The Costco in Clermont is located on a busy main street among a lot of other businesses.

Wildwood was fearful that approving Villages expansion would change their political makeup and no longer have locals run for and occupy offices. They weighed that possibility against the increased revenue.....the revenue finally won though they are now trying to play catch up and non locals are running for office....so far not successfully but that will change. Since the sales agents work for the Developer the posters are blaming the Developer. And I agree, Developers do what Developers do, ours just does it better than most. |
