Unfortunately there isn’t a store in Ocala. Closest is Altemonte Springs in Orlando or Wesley Chapel off 75 near Tampa.

Orlando off 4 by the Millennia Mall.

A short 45-50 minute drive at the average turnpike speed. Plus you have Total Wine, Dick's, and Millenia Mall right there. Take a cooler and make a morning of it.

You do know there is a Costco inOcala, right? That’s closer than it was to me in NY and surely close enough to go once a month.

Where in Ocala is this Costco? To my knowledge.....there is no Costco in Ocala.

Large businesses (WALMART/SAMs is that for sure) can "spread" losses and profits among hundreds of locations. If they do well in 300 locations they can afford to do not so well in a couple others and remain there "for the community."

I am at THIS SAM's just about weekly and rarely find them busy except around the first of the months in the fall/winter when snowbirds start coming back. Of course the $1.50 dog and soda brings folks in for lunch. SAMs has closed a LOT of locations this year so they are obviously trying to keep the average up and weed out some of the dogs. They closed an almost brand new location near where I used to live (~20 miles from NYC) and it was 10x busier during slow hours then I have ever seen this one during peak hours which really surprised me. There was a BJ's 3 miles down the road and a Costco 8 miles away.

If you look at the banners at the exit, the Lady Lake Store is often the sales leader in their district.

District includes what area? Where are the next closest SAM's in their district that they are "leading"? :)

Having the best "sales in the district" has no bearing one way or the other on being or not being profitable. It only means they do the most business "in their district" ;)

Sams stats seams to upset you, are you an ex employee from one of the closing sams, or an accounting firm that works for sams with a wealth of knowledge

I would rather see a BJ's. They don't discriminate against the disabled.

Isn’t discrimination illegal ? What are they not doing.

Costco

We need a Costco here in the Villages. Across the street from Brownwood is property that the Villages haven't bought up. Either let this company in.

So far "this company" doesn't want to.

Sadly, for Costco, Trader Joe’s, it’s their decision, and neither thinks this is the area they what to build. Both are an hour away, so it’s doable. Up north we drive 45 minutes to Costco, Sams, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods. Yes it would be nice but until these businesses choose us, get a yeti it’s not a bad drive

They are coming. My hair dresser's sister's mom's daughter told me today.
