So the humidity is year round? Pollen? You can’t have that option in let’s say Nov thru May?

There was a time when some parts of the ‘South’....people went to concerts or sporting events.....or college, just for the running water!

All 3 bathrooms in our south of 44 veranda home have great exhaust fans. They move the air very well with little noise even set on the high setting. The main bedroom has a frosted window up high in the walk-in shower, and the small guest bathroom has a frosted window up above the bathtub. Neither window opens. There’s no window at all in the third bathroom that has a shower. We had a solatube installed in that one as well as in our laundry room. So glad we don’t have windows that open in our bathrooms.

I have noticed the homes that have a window in the shower becomes a ledge for all the shampoos and such used in the shower. Even though the windows are frosted you can clearly see what is behind the window….a little tacky to me, IMO.

Or just maybe it could be a safety reason for when we get hit with Hurricanes. just a guess.

We had our windows open this morning. We LIKE having fresh air in our house. The A/C kicked in around noon, and that's when we shut the windows.

Never ceases to amaze me how people go on and on about how awesome the weather is in Florida, how it was one of the #1 reasons they moved here. And then they spend most of their time inside with the windows closed and the A/C on.

I'm from Connecticut, and didn't even know that solar tubes existed until I moved to The Villages. I also couldn't imagine why anyone up north would want an acrylic window in their roof. You get a good 2 feet of snow and an ice dam up there, and that window would be down on the floor of your living room, along with a few feet of snow sliding through the hole in your roof.

Not to mention that heat rises, and in the winter, the LAST thing you'd want is a 2-foot-circumference hole in your roof covered with plastic and no insulation.

In CYV you have at least 5 window options. The design don’t not allow windows on neighboring side.

Maybe it’s only awesome during winter months?

We’ve built three homes with three different builders, Ohio and Florida.
None of the builders wanted to install skylights. They had too many experiences where it leaked a few years later, and their clients wanted them to repair all damages at their cost.
It sounds like you were one of the lucky ones who had skylights that performed well.
I’m sure you can probably find someone who will install skylights for you. Make sure it doesn’t invalidate your roof warranty.
You also have a high probability of frogs coming in. People get frogs in their bathroom all the time via their roof vents.

How can tell? ////

You’d only be adding humidity to the humidity.
