Sumter is a large county. The Villages is a large part of it but still there are many other people elsewhere.

Exactly! You can say "thousands" are infected and hundreds have died, but when it comes to the Villages, lets be truthful. I still have not found anywhere that says more than 8 or 9 have died of the virus in the Villages portion of Sumter Co. I do not care how many show positive on the tests, when there are no deaths related to the high infection rate.
Guess I am just not one to panic and get hysterical. First off, if you are being careful and using common sense, there is no reason to expect the worst. If masks help prevent you from catching it, then wear a mask. If gloves keep you from getting it on your hands then wear gloves and still wash your hands. keep your hands away from your face, period. If you do everything you can and you still get it, at least you know you did what you could. Being infected does not mean you are going to die. Very few die compared to those that test positive and the ones that are infected that have not been tested.

************** is on line and NOT related to the Daily Sun or the developer. It is also available on Facebook, Twitter, and email.
Today it reported 113 residents and staff members at long term care facilities tested positive for COVID-19. Publix in Spanish Plaines on Bella Cruz Drive announced they have one employee who tested positive for COVID-19. Publix has previously announced that 3 other employees
have tested positive. Those 3 work in different stores: one in Brownwood, one in Southern Trace, one in La Plaza Grande on Bichara Boulevard. They also announced seven (7) other employees in stores outside the Villages.
************** reported earlier today that the total deaths from Sumter County was 22. I did not see any specific numbers for The Villages.

Seems to me, that if you eliminate the two prisons, the Care Homes, and surrounding areas outside the bubble, TV. as a specific area, must have been doing something right, given the daily "OMG's" on TOTV. regarding the perceived failings of a large portion of the population.
