My dog drinks all the time and it's starting to work on my nerves. He's ready for an intervention. If you have any dogs that want to talk to him in a group, let me know.

too much dringing in the villages-- alcohol is pushed at every location- 2 for 1 , cheap drinks, happy hours that last all day

We are all grown adults that are free to make choices. We are responsible for what ever we choose to do, not The Villages. I have friends that drink and friends who don't.

Dui's in the village. Are there more because of the vacation/fun aspect of living in the Villages? Seems that the ones caught and listed in that other News thing are almost always multiple dui violators. I really feel sorry for these people when I see an older person, retired with so much to live for doing this. The dangers to others and themselves. Is there a bigger alcohol problem than we actually see? What do you think?

...since you asked... that your pity is misplaced as those nailed for DUI aren't young kids being stupid, but older and should know better stupid.

I feel sorry for anyone getting hit by these morons.

There's no bigger alcohol problem here than anywhere else in the country...it only seems big because you live here and read the paper here...get a paper from else where...anywhere...same problems and different names...

I thought it would be easy using google to see how much our age group drinks compared to other age groups but it's not.
If someone wants to tackle this, I'd be grateful.
I know New Hampshire drinks way more than New York. I think they are house bound and bored in the winter.

For that very same reason. I think there may be less drinking in The Villages.

Not one mention of A.A.?? Pray to your Lord that John Barleycorn doesn't get a hold of you. It can happen in a minute. That being said....have as much fun drinking for as long as you can, just don't hurt anyone else while you having your fun.

That's just what I need. Another useless piece of information that will stick, pushing out something important I ought to remember.

Reminds me of an episode of "Married with Children" where Kelly had so much crammed into her brain that anything new knocked something else out. So on the final question on a game show for all the money, she heard something new and forgot her father held the high school football TD record, something that he repeated ad nauseam
