With the present drought and the bottling of nearby water , my only concern is where will the water come from ?

Actually The last Baby Boomers will turn 65 in 12 years.
Remember, a lot of the last Boomers will not have pensions like many of us do. |
Went for the big ride today and visited Fenney. Beautiful entrance under the oaks and ponds. About 2 tenths of a mile past the beauty looks like the Mohave desert. Oh yes I know the landscaping will grow fast. If you pay close attention kissing lanai's have been perfected along with the above ground eyesore utilities between them. Toured two open houses low end $179 - 200K. Good quality - I didn't see it. Bad quality - I didn't see it. Passes code is what I seen. Not for me- needs much more disclosure of why I would want to be there. I actually think not being connected to The Villages (less hustle and bustle) would be a better sales feature than if it is the same. Why would you want to be there. The few premiere houses (and I said few) that are around the entrance Oaks and ponds were nice.

In fact, the houses being built looked closer to each other and on flatter terrain...than almost anywhere else in the existing Villages. NOT impressed in the least. A big question I have, is why the street signs have a logo that says... "City of Wildwood" (est??) on each of them? |

So you know where to send your taxes, of course. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

Fenney was annexed into the city of Wildwood as most of the other new lands under development. |

So the residents know who their new masters are of course [emoji6] |

And other areas are in Sumter, Lake or Marion counties but not in the above mentioned cities. |
I think it is a smart move to keep all of The Villages connected via golf carts. It is a big part of what The Villages is. Individuals will decide how far they want to travel by cart.

Fenney golf courses

A starter at one of the championship courses told me there would be no more golf courses(champ) since the starters "always" know 3 years in advance. One of the posters on the previous pages stated he expected 3 more champ courses, and he is a manager at one of our existing champ courses. Bottom line----the developers have not had a conversation with either of these people, much less the rest of us. |
Hopefully more golf courses!!!

Okay, it looks like y'all have decided that getting past 44 won't be a problem. But the Florida Turnpike is in the way also. Will it be worth it for the villages to spend lots of money (millions) just so golf carts can make the trip?

I hear that once reaching the Gulf, they plan on creating more land by filling it in with rock and dirt. The goal is to reach all the way to the Mexican shore line.

Nope. I have it on good authority that Cuba is the goal. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

So resale value and the chance to resell is always a question to consider. |

We are The Villages. You will be assimilated. "Resistance is futile"

How many years will it take to sell all of the projected new homes on the newly purchased land at a sales rate of 2,200 new homes per year? The Villages is at the mature stage of its life? From the Orlando paper in 2016 -> Sales drop in The Villages while Lake Nona sales grow - Orlando Sentinel
Note: sales in 2016 were a little less than 2015 sales reported in the Orlando article. However, maybe sales will increase with these land acquisitions? |

Look at Spruce Creek and some of the other communities around the edges.

I'm happy there are unimpressed people, the grumpy old negative nellies will go someplace else to live and stop trying to rain on everybody else's lives. Wouldn't want them for a neighbor because they have such bad outlook on live. These people are NEVER happy. They usual don't live very long lives, and want to drag everyone down to their depressing level.
