As a dog owner it is difficult in the villages to walk dogs anywhere but lawns. I keep my pups to the edges. There is a part of the lawn which belongs to the villages from the curb to your home. An easement which varies in feet depending on house size.

The easement is not for you. Unless you’re a utilities worker, you’re trespassing.

"Setting them up to poop on my lawn" LOL I've had many dogs and never heard of setting them up. Dogs are much like people, they poop when the need arises.... they don't hold it til their owner tells them to poop here. As long as they pick up after the dog, I couldn't care less.

For all you put haters out there you should probably start your own club. since you like to tell the pet owners how to take care of their pets.

I AM a pet owner, but I doubt if I would entertain an idea of a special club for folks that care about their lawns and believe in common courtesy of pet owners. Perhaps more folks should listen to their neighbors regarding "personal space" in conjunction with one's property. If I left my car doors unlocked, would that give a person the "RIGHT" to sleep in my car? Would that make me a "good neighbor?" By the way, having an animal that doesn't know better does not make the owner stupid and given a free pass for NOT knowing better. Be a good neighbor and keep your animals off your neighbor's grass. Feel insulted? Life's a bit*** and then we die, is a saying that might be quoted on both sides of the discussion.
By the way, in all the decades I have owned pets, none of them have ever defecated on anyone's private property. I have too much respect for my neighbors to allow such an infraction. If you believe your animal is too STUPID to learn, then I think you are not giving them credit they are due.

On my plat, it is not called an easement. It is referred to as a "right of way", and it doesn't say anything about who can use it. I think that trespassing is when you are actually on someone else's property.

Yep. Easement are dedicated for specific uses.

You may be right. However, if I have to maintain it in good order, then I should have the right to complain about anyone destroying it, right?

I have never seen poop bags tossed on the ground here. I do see LOTS of cigarette butts everywhere. Even piles of them that appear to be dumped from someone’s “ash tray”. They will stay there forever or at least until someone, like me, picks them up. I never see threads about cigarette butts. I wonder why?

Yes, of course. I noticed that I have less brown spots on my lawn then I did before implementing a new tactic. When someone leaves a bit of missed excrement on my lawn, I simply leave it by their door so that they can dispose of it at their convenience. I love animals, but since I spend a substantial amount of money on my lawn to keep it looking nice, I prefer that owners of pets take their little critters elsewhere to do their business. I know they understand because they do not allow them to do their business in their own yards.

So you follow them to their house?!

This lie keeps popping up? I bought my whole lot. I paid for the grass and plants, the irregation system, the soil the grass and plants are planted in. I pay the taxes on all of it. I pay for the maintenance. It is not " up for grabs", any more than your car parked in your driveway. It is simple to respect your neighbors. Just stay off the lawn because it is not yours!

It sounds like someone else looking to move into that "pet free" village!!!

We are currently renting a home in TV and are looking to buy at some point. One thing that we have noticed is folks walking by with their dogs and setting them up to poop on our lawn and then cleaning it up.
We are not dog haters and have recently lost our dog.
Why can't folks have the dog poop on their own lawn and then go for walk.
We had a poop place in our backyard for our dog to poop.
I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this.

you wrote the word poop five times....just sayin

You would be much happier living in a community that does not allow pets.

Since you were a previous dog owner I would assume you walked your dog. The walk and the scents from other dogs can give them the urge to poop. I carry bags with me and mine commonly prefers the street and I do not allow her to go on other people’s lawns. It’s part of owning a dog. This subject comes up frequently and I get your frustration. All I can do is control what my own dog does and she does not do “it” ….pee or poop, on anyone else’s lawn. She uses her own yard but walks do encourage “going”.
