I don't assume that at all.

This "green area' situation is not new, in one form or another has been ongoing for over a year.
It has been a thread more than once on this forum.
People on TOTV are familiar with the topic- some might consider that it has been discussed 'ad nauseum'.

Those who live in Tamarind Grove are (for the most part) familiar with the topic. I'd guess every dog owner that lives there is… unless they are brand new residents. The neighbors will school the newbies.

Those who happened to read the posted notice at the mail station are aware…. as well as those who may have noticed an article on it in The Daily Sun…. or heard it discussed at the pool, which is adjacent to the area of the topic of discussion.

I get the message that the Daily Sun is not your cup of tea. Was that the point you wanted to make clear? You succeeded. :BigApplause:

I agree!

What a cleverly passive-aggressive way to spell.

Most people are considerate and responsible. A very few are not. This applies to dog owners, cigarette smokers, drinkers from water bottles, Kleenex users, etc.

Well said Wanda!!

Well, that isn't very realistic, and then --
exactly what would the neighborhood watch do?
Not very much, I'm afraid.

Those who read The Daily Sun don't read it for intellectual stimulation, however, they do read it to keep abreast of what is going on in the area. So what is your real problem?

I have walked my dogs in many areas of TV, including the area where the mailboxes are near Tamarind Grove. I have yet to see the situation that has people so upset at those mailboxes. Have I seen something that should have been picked up? On occasion, yes, but all the time, no, not on a regular basis. I think most dog owners ARE picking up after their pets, at least when I see them. I do it when I walk and all the people I know who have dogs are also responsible. I also don't see all the litter mentioned above. Maybe I just see the world through rose colored glasses or maybe I just see TV that way.

Thank you! Finally someone that agrees with me. I'm up there every day to collect my mail and can say I don't see or smell anything around the mailboxes. I see a few people taking their small dogs into the park, but not a crowd like there used to be before people complained about the excess traffic and the developer put a stop to that through Community Watch. Except for the guy after dark, of course. And he'll never get caught!

You're missing the point! If picking it up were the 100% solution, then you'd pick it up from your own house instead of teaching your dog to poop anywhere other than at home.

Welcome to THE VILLAGES. I wish you had checked before you moved here so that you wouldn't be so disappointed about the dog issue. I don't have a dog but I do love them and This is well into my eighth year living and owning here. During that time I have run into many, many, many dogs and their owners and most of them were doing just great following the rules. I would guess that at least a third, maybe more, Villagers own pets. And they are allowed to.

I would also wager that more than 90 percent pick up after their animals.

But....there isn't much anyone can do to change a selfish and inconsiderate human being who does not care enough to keep his/her surroundings clean.

So try to focus on the positive and don't lose sight that this is one of the cleanest and safest places to live on this earth.

I am going to sit down and have a stern talk with my dog tonight about his unwillingness to poop in his own yard. He can do multiple tricks, has an extensive vocabulary, but he's as stubborn as my husband when it comes to doing his business. His schedule is set. He set it from day one. And although he's not the alpha male in the house (that's hubby), I still can't get him to use our yard as his bathroom. But what the heck, we can have "The Talk" again. Or maybe I'll just refuse to walk him and instead let him dig up the yard in frustration. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Yikes!!! You started reading the old poop threads and dug an old one up!!! (No pun intended).

As Gracie said, get to know your new neighbors, look around at your beautiful surroundings. We really are a great community and also, as Gracie said, about 90% do pick up.....although I think it's closer to 98%.

You mean someone actually started this "poop" thread after almost 2 months !!!!!:ohdear:
