If I were a boozer I would have to have a tall one to that statement. :1rotfl:

If you really need booze to make yourself think you are having a good time and just can't have a good time without it, then there is likely a problem already.....maybe some really can't have a good time unless they are at least buzzed which changes them from the real person they are....As said nothing said here is going to change anyone....never had any thoughts it would.

Oops I did it again!

I needed a drink after reading some of today's post!

I am drinking an ice cold bud light, sitting at our pool, listening to B.B. KING Blues station on Sirius and feeling happy for me at this very monument. HELL YEA

And even if you did, you would be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as opposed to bleary-eyed and stinky. But, back to the question at hand. Um, what was the question? Oh I remember. Yes I do believe my posts are slightly different after a few beers. Not to mention it took me 3 hours to type this.

I'm out of the country and just getting around to reading this thread--safe in rental apartment, with wine!

I love the lighthearted posts. And young dum, I think we are going to be enjoying your posts. Keep 'em coming! :coolsmiley:

I always drink on airplanes. I don't care WHAT time it is!! Funny, I'm not at all afraid of flying, but a bloody mary in the morning or a coffee and kahlua, if it's really early, just makes for a smoother, more enjoyable flight. :)

I think an Ambien makes for a much more enjoyable flight, but failing that, I'll take one of those little bottles of Shiraz or Merlot (they NEVER have Cabernet, the cheapskates...)

You must have a fatter wallet than we do--or more frequent flyer points! We haven't sat in Business or First Class since retirement when all the ff points dried up.

I feel sorry for those who don't drink because when they wake up in the morning that's the best that they will feel all day.

Aw, don't feel too sorry for us, Shimpy. Believe me, I have more fun hanging out with drinkers than you do. I could probably write a book with all the info that has slipped out of those slurring lips. People really let their inhibitions down after a few and share things they never thought they would. Now if you're sharing with another drinker, they may forget what was confided during the outing but not us sobersides!

I don't have a problem with social drinking. Wish I could still have a good, straight up martini but a health issue won't cut me any slack there. I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me though, I am enjoying a new entertainment by observing the embibers. :MOJE_whot:

Grandpa's ideology on drinking was: There are two kinds of fools, the one's that drink too much and those that won't drink at all.

CFrance 10-06-2013 05:26 PM

Actually, it's Shimpy, not Shrimpy.

Peachie, Please tell me you and I haven't met, especially during happy hour.

I don't tell stories out of school, Shimpy. As I said... I "could write a book", not I'm going to write a book. Party on!
