Have you visited the Villages?
The kind of violence does not happen that frequently in The villages.

1) Isn't 911 supposed to be used only for emergencies?

2) My experience with the youth in this state is the opposite. Unlike their northern counterparts, we have been impressed with the manners and respect shown by the vast majority of the youth we have encountered here.

Mine too. I have found the kids in the Villages very well behaved for the most part.

And, I have been going to Villages' area movie theaters since around July 2005 and have seldom been bothered by any of the other spectators. There was an e-cigarette smoker that kind of annoyed me about 5 months back at the Old Mill Playhouse. He might have been a smoker was my thought while in the theater but I was not breathing in anything so I did not report it to the management. I was very curious though about what I had actually seen.

There are noisy eaters every once in a while but movie theaters have popcorn and candy eaters.

Once in a while a woman may be wearing way too much perfume or a man way too much cologne.

And, there are those red hat ladies if you get a flock in front of you with their hats blocking some of the screen. I just move when that happens.

Interesting you can be given a ticket for sitting in your golf cart with an open container at the town square but others can walk in a theater with an open container disturb people and compliant individuals have to take all the grieve ?

Drunks raising hell in a public theater is an emergency!

We should all call the theatre and complain. Just ring the phone off the hook. I think that is just awful that two punky kids can spoil everyone else's good time.

My husband and I were at that show 5:10 and saw and heard it all. They were 2 rows behind us and when they walked passed us it smelled like a brewery. I thought one of them was going to fall down the stairs he was so unsteady. They came in that way and I could not believe that they let them in when they ripped their ticket they had to see the way they were and had to smell them. A month ago 2 other young guys came in and as they were going to their seat they were yelling and making a scene I was frightened and did tell the usher he thanked me but nothing was done. One guy actually fell asleep the rest of the movie. Both times it has been the old mill theatre. I thank your wife for complaining because when he came back in I was going to go out and complain if there was anymore nonsense but he must have gotten his friend and they both left and never came back. I am going to stop down there this week and ask to see the manager and make sure she is aware this has happened twice. I am also going to ask her why ushers arent coming in the movie a couple of times and actually walking up the stairs and checking the theatre out. They always do that in ny.

It almost sounds like the manager was afraid to do anything about it. Or didn't want the hassle. It's not right. I agree with calling the police.

Courtesy ,respect,responsibility, all were sadly lacking in the 2 young people you wrote about. Actually..... even the movie show manager did not show theses traits either! I assume there are rules for theater patrons listed somewhere. ( besides turning off your cell and no texting)
If there are such patron rules they should be posted on theater property and referred to in a complaint to the manager. If I recall, most times this post states the manager has the right to refuse or remove individuals.

It says something on the back of the ticket stub as with this one for George Clooney's The American. I put one showing the front of Dinner for Schmucks. These are both for the Old Mill Playhouse.

A loud rude drunk at any age is obnoxious and annoying. My son and his girlfriend (in their 20's) came back from Brownwood describing an incident they had with an older guy at Las Tapas last week. Nothing to the degree described at the theater, but still an example of inappropriate behavior. The common factor being the alcohol.

I did. I tried to post the link to this thread but it wouldn't allow me. If we all make a stink, maybe management will get a little steam to take care of this.

There is a number to call for non emergencies. I have 352-569-1600. However, behavior such as the OP describes could have quickly escalated into an emergency. There's no telling what intoxicated people would do. The manager should have issued a verbal warning. The second time these drunks should have been thrown out. If the manager was uncomfortable doing so, the he should have called the police for assistance. If I were the OP, I would either have called the police myself after the manager failed to or I would have asked for a refund and gone outside to search for a policeman myself. I believe the police have a station right there near the theater. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated. And to think one of these two drunks were probably operating a vehicle!

I agree with you about calling 911. I had relatives in Pittsburgh who were police officers, and they were dispatched to drunk and disorderlies all the time. It was not considered inappropriate to call 911 for that.

And it very well could have escalated.
