I have a battery mower. I enjoy mowing my own grass. I pay to have it mowed from April until October. It’s just too hot for me to mow it during those months. The rest of the year, it’s good exercise and a feeling of accomplishment.

Not sure where you're going with your statement, but I see that battery or electric-powered lawn equipment is a heck of a lot better than gas-powered. Of course, the better option would be a goat, but then storage for the billy might be a problem.

Sold my gas Honda mower and bought an EGO mower, trimmer and edger. It’s many pounds lighter and quieter. Cuts our St. Augustine grass beautifully. Love ‘em!

If in good shape I would buy it. I have the same mower to do the lawns at my home and my mother in laws house down the street. Used 2-3 times a week for the past 4+ years. Had to get a new set of batteries after 3 years. The replacement batteries will cost you more than your neighbors asking price.

For $125 I don’t think you can go wrong. Consumer reports rates the EGo as the top rated. I’ve had an electric mower for 4 years and have never had the first problem.

Cheap ones don’t last long. My EGO equipment still works perfectly.

EGO is the best cordless lawn equipment available. I have the mower, trimmer and blower and it works flawlessly.

I'm going for the EGO self propelled. I really want the Milwaukee electric mower since I have been buying their series of tools for a while now but its over $1000

I've been using electric mowers for 10 years and I'm not a Treehugger.
I had an acre lot at our past location, I started out using my 80v Kobalt to mow around the home and a gas riding for the larger area; well the riding mower engine went out, and for the rest of the season 3+ months (Texas) I used that 80v Kobalt mower to mow the whole acre lot, I had two batteries.
Next Season, I purchase an electric riding mower rated at 2 acres.
Currently, here in TV, my small lot is so easy to do; all of my lawn tools are electric, using the same battery type. Having a Mower, Blower, Hedge Trimmer, Weed wacker and Edger I use two batteries to alternate to each tool as necessary.

Ask him to let you use it on your lawn …. Do the entire lawn to make sure the battery is sufficient to do the job and then , once you catch your breath, change your sweat drenched clothing and finish a cold beer , then you can decide if it’s worth it !! ;)

Our yard guy died a little over a year ago now and I decided to do the lawn care myself. Bought a Kobalt corded electric mower, corded electric weed whacker/edger and a corded electric hedge trimmer--decided on corded rather than battery because my grandson has all battery-powered stuff and says his mower lacks power in heavy grass. My lawn looks better than most of the professionally-maintained lawns in our area.

Corded isn't as bad as it sounds. I have a 75' heavy-duty power cord and can easily reach every part of my yard by plugging it in the outside outlets. dragging the cord was a hassle at times until I learned a few simple tricks, such as starting close to the outlet and gradually moving farther away. Same with the hedge trimmer and weedwhacker.

I figure that the equipment paid for itself in ten months, at the rate I was paying my yard guy. Besides, I like the exercise.
