The EV cars are just as bad or worse but you know the ones that have them aren’t going to say anything bad about them since they paid thousands of dollars on one. I’m telling you they’ll end up costing you a lot more in the end than they’re telling you but if you want one don’t buy a cheap 50 or $60,000. one buy the best & most expensive on the market!

I have that mower. Also have the Kobalt weed whacker and blower. I have an unusually large yard for a courtyard villa. I haven’t had any problems at all with it (2 years now since I bought them). I love not having to maintain gas equipment, and my garage doesn’t smell like gas and oil.
All that said, make sure the mower is self-propelled. I can’t imagine having to push through St. Augustine without it. Best of luck.

It sounds like a good deal, if you want to cut grass.

We have been using the battery powered Kobalt for two years now with no problems. Easily moves through and nicely cuts the St Augustine grass.

Ask your neighbor if you can use it one time to cut your lawn. See how well it works for you. Does it make it through the entire yard without the battery running out? Is a second battery and charger included?
Does it cut the height you need? St Augustine is cut at 3.5 to 4 inch. Many mowers cannot get that high.
Is the battery a lithium? Nicad = hard pass. NiMH = I would hesitate a lot on it, even at that price.
You might also need to sharpen the blade if it hasn't been done recently. Or swap for a new one.

I bought at Kobalt 40 volt at Lowes for $350 about 6 months ago. Easy to use!! Battery never been an issue.

Well, all my neighbors pay to have their lawns mowed, and walk around the neighborhood for exercise.

I tell them why not put a lawn mower in front of you and save $$$$ and get exercise all in one. :duck:

On a side note.
I was out in Weirsdale mower store and on the floor they have a all electric riding mower, (the kind they use in TV) 0-turn radius, 54" deck, lithium battery for $19,8898.00.
They said they a lot of them...........:confused:

We had a park where they used pigmy goats. Saw them a few times. They were small and seemed docile. A good job? I think they used them in wild areas. Can't help it I tried.
Goats do not seem to do good edges and I expect they will also eat shrubs and flowers.

The issue with all rechargeable tools is batteries. New batteries for say an electric drill are close to the cost of a new drill with two new batteries. For the best battery life, store them in a cool place-that is not your garage. Most tool batteries today are lithium ion.
You will get any more successful recharges if you do not run them all the way down.
Expected life is 6-7 years. May not be true. I read somewhere that dewalt tools haVE a lifetime warranty and that includes batteries

Far as cutting your own grass. The villages is the first time I ever did not mow my own grass. I at one time, in high school set up and ran a small mowing business. I also shoveled snow. Him not much potential for snow shoveling-here.

As far as having people mown my lawn in nine years we've had three no four different people do it. First one was good, decided he was too old, lost interest or whatever.
He suggested a nice young guy who did a good job and was reliable. He just disappeared stealing a months pay from us. Next guy same sort of thing mowed for a while, not as good as the previous guy no big deal due to his poor equipment he would leave piles of cut grass. I did not complain I just raked it up. He too just stopped coming. We found him and he honestly returned the paid but unearned money.

Our current person, a nice guy but the worst of all of them. He just gave us the bull story about the price of gasoline. He wants another $20 a month. TIME TO LOOK AT OPTIONS. Quality of work low, reliability high, price way up there. Time to ME MOW?
