The bad news is that power outages more common here than anywhere else we lived. The good news is that they appear to be short lived

This can put our little 40 minutes without electricity in prospective.
From the World Bank website:

According to the World Bank’s Global Tracking Framework (GTF) released in April 2017, 1.06 billion people live without electricity- only a slight improvement since 2012.

Bridgeport at Lake Miona was out as well.

Second time in two weeks. Both at night. No storm in the immediate area. Very short. Tested where we have our emergency lights and that they were in good order.

Not one power outage in 13 years and now two in two weeks.

I would be curious to hear SECO's view of that.

All in all we are very fortunate.

10:55 PM 8/18/2017 Power Outage.

Power went out last night here in Lynnhaven as I was preparing to take Beau out for his walk. It was a very dark walk last night with me worrying about what I could not see in the dark.

It came back around midnight.

Anything happen in your Village?

My friends of Facebook from the Villages seem to indicate it was a lot of Villages?

Sounds like everything north of 466A went out, but not south of 466A?

Been in Santiago for 17 years and never had a power outage, even through 3 hurricanes. Knock on wood!

This was our first outage in 6+ years in Tamarind Grove. That's the best we ever had anywhere. In Maryland I got so tired of resetting the clocks.

I've been through hurricanes in St. Petesburg in the 60's, Pensacola in the 70's and Savannah in the 80's and everytime it was a power outage for 3 days.

Perhaps a good time to be sure you have at least a quality flashlight.

In hurricane Katrina, before we moved to Florida, it took A WEEK for them to restore electricity. I had several Coleman lanterns. They are about as bright as a hundred watt light bulb. You can still buy them. If, you have one make sure you have parts and it works.

Out for about an hour last evening in De la Vista following a 5 hour outage last week and 2 surges this AM. Thjis happening now with SECO makes me concerned about what will happen if we get hit with a hurricane this season.

We have some good flashlights. I needed one to make sure Beau peed and nothing was around to attack him but I would have had a hard time seeing it coming last night.

Blissfully unaware, as no outage last night in our part of Hemingway.
