About the year 1995 the population was under 40,000. That means additional development not necessarily in the Spanish Springs area adjusted almost another 100,000 citizens (the number may even be larger). These are people that may not even be roughly associated with Spanish Springs or CDD 1. The practical side is most won’t drive their golf cart for an hour plus from Sawgrass to locate Spanish Springs.
It’s nuts and bolts. We have what we have because we paid for it, all of it. If a district wants more, create a bond for that district to pay for it. CDD 1 is no more special than CDD 13. Pay the piper if you want something and stop looking for handouts from everyone else.
Too many have the “free” roof syndrome because insurance pays for it (Northern Villages).
