One would think that a gate area where the arm is unexpectedly missing, that crashes would happen at a huge rate. Golf carts would be expecting the car to stop, and cart would dart out into the traffic lane directly in front of the vehicles.
I recall plenty of publicity about carts crashing all over the place EXCEPT at any crossing with a missing gate arm. We hear about every cart crash, but that number pales in comparison to how many cars crash. There's nothing sensational about a car crash, so those do not get the hype in the news media.

Yet the doom and gloom posts continue, even though crashes are just not happening.

Interesting argument. Postulating that removing a safety feature will make gate crossings safer. I'm not sure anybody can get onboard with that.

Brilliant. In the interest of "security" we have to stop residents from buying clone chips for their car mirrors to avoid wearing out the motor in their car window. But we're keeping the red button for the benefit of any poor crook who might wander in from elsewhere looking for a TV to steal.

It sorta reminds me of our new and modern, enlightened immigration policy.

.

Very Confused.

There are many benefits for the red button.

Not to debate the merits of cloned chips in mirrors, but I have NEVER had a power window motor burn out. That includes my 2011 sportscar.

I use my cloned gate card all of the time as nothing else is needed to raise the gate. Now, I do stop briefly as everyone should while the gate lifts. Nothing else needs to be done by me to open the gates. It's as simple as that. Why people insist on doing it the old way is not what I would want to do. So, as long as my valid cloned card works, I am happy. As the old saying goes, keep it simple ....

Hi neighbor

P.S. As an elected official on a District board and in my opinion, District staff and the Developer will never remove gates nor change the requirement for using a gate card or pushing that red button or talking to a gate guard to open gates. Very happy that my cloned gate card located in the mirror continues to work great!

Note that they should not place a stop sign there unless it complies with the county requirements. That is a county road. Stop signs are not supposed to be placed at ground level, and they are required to be on the right hand side of the traffic lane, not on the left side. I think the signs are illegal.

That is my understanding also. What I've heard is that a government agency must authorize installation of signs, not a private entity.

And I'm sure you both know a Community Development District (CDD) is a governmental unit.

Yes, but they don't make the county road and signage rules.

Do some research, Google is your friend. CDD's do not have the legal authority to regulate traffic on public roadways.

June 4th my cloned mirror chip still works.

As I understand it, the gate arms are authorized by the county, and the construction of them complies with the county guidelines.
