So call the Wildwood police and report the violation, if there is one.

Was it a red Corvette?

The reason you back into a spot is that it is safer. Both for parking and unparking the car. How well can you see traffic when you are backing out of a parking space?

In the past where I worked you were required to back in parking. It was at a refinery. Two reasons, one when parking you can back into a spot while seeing the area is clear and no crossing traffic behind you. 2) In an emergency, backing out of a parking spot interferes with traffic flow in an emergency.

The wait time for some one crossing in front of you is almost no different than waiting for someone to back into a spot. Don't they teach you patience at your church? Shame, shame, shame.....

The whole Sawgrass set up is whacky...but ESPECIALLY the golf set up. Why didn't they stay with a town square concept that has worked well? Why didn't they include a bag drop at the starter shack side? It's a real PIA the way they have it now if you don't drive your golf cart to the course. This is similar to the Fenney putt n play course...no auto parking at the course. Whoever their site planner is...I'd hire another person.

Having the pro shop across the street, buried in the Sawgrass marketplace building, with no clubhouse and associated parking, could have thrown the guy for a loop. He might have been asking the starter, “where the hell do I park, pay, and get a rental cart”?

Folks needing to get over to the Starter Shack can ask the Pro Shop staff for a lift and he/she will certainly be accommodated. It's a service they gladly will render.

Wasn't "small stuff" by any stretch of the imagination. It was very stupid and potentially deadly "stuff".

If it was the guys first time there he wouldn’t know that. In fact, he wouldn’t know where the pro shop is. It’s a really screwed up set up there, unlike any other golf course I have never played, with a very large sample size. I’m still not condoning his actions, but I can easily see a scenario where he was totally confused.

Makes one wonder, what would Jesus think of folks who bow their heads in church, but when they get behind the wheel they drive like Hell!

Now most new cars have sensors and cameras to make it easier.

Jesus drives a BMW so he is one of the worst offenders.

He might not know where the pro shop is, he may not know where to get a rental cart, he may not know where TO park, but he sure as heck should know NOT TO park in a lane of moving traffic posted at 35 mph!!!! Why are people making excuses for this moron??????

Golfers..the kings and queens of entitled villagers. Constantly complaining

mikempp 06-23-2024 05:48 PM

I haven't witnessed many people like that.

I've owned my home in the Villages since 2008 and can honestly say I have only seen a few "entitled" people here. I did have a next-door neighbor move from California that was downright nasty. She sold and moved back to California, said "not enough liberals here".
