The best political satire I've read for a long time except for Borowitz in WaPo.

Do you ever complain about “fake news”?

paquino 03-04-2022 07:45 AM

Is there any kool-aid left?

Here we go with conspiracy theory “news”. Just stop already. Fringe news is fake news.

You read on "Censored News". Another QAnon conspiracy? Come on, get real. Putin doesn't like that Ukraine is a democracy and he is worried that it will spread to Russia.

Of course, I was looking at it through the lens of history books, and movies and TV shows written and produced years after the Rise and Fall. It all makes so much more sense when you know how it all turns out.
Now, as an old man, I guess I am finding out how the rest of the world thinks and acts when an aggressive madman uses his military might to crush a weaker neighbor. We hope it all ends well enough, but we are so afraid (not unjustly so) of escalation that we hold back on the military action that essentially is the only language men like Hitler and Putin understand.

But, I also thought I'd never see a crowd of flag waving Americans break into the Capitol Building, stirred up by the words of a President who refused to acknowledge the results of an election. I am trying not to lose sleep wondering what the next "think I never thought I'd see" will be.

Thanks for mentioning Hitler and Poland.

After the Ukraine, where will Putin head next? Hitler didn’t stop in Poland. If we haven’t learned from history, are we doomed to repeat it?

Why are Ukrainians fighting Russia? Perhaps they remember the time in the '30's when Russia confiscated Ukraine's food storage which caused MILLIONS of Ukrainian deaths from starvation. Some call it genocide. Maybe they do not wish to be part of Putin's rebuild of the communist Soviet Union.
The whole world should be supporting the Ukraine, regardless of their not being members of NATO.
Putin is a war criminal, period.

Then you should take a long vacation to Russia

IQ has no correlation with how one spells. One should know the facts before writing, but then there would be very little on this site if that was the case.

Until recently, almost all decent American patriots condemned what Putin did/said and recognized that he was evil personified. Now, we seem to have those who at a minimum equivocate, if not outright support and make excuses for the madman. Gee, I wonder how that happened?

If crazy conspiracy theories that not-too-bright people actually believe weren't so destructive and divisive - they would be laughable. :(

Nothing is simple

Nothing is as simple as people think or say. As well as my explanation.
Russia/ Putin, want to take Ukraine back into it old collection of countries. Putin has been saying that NATO is the aggressor. Ukraine wants to be part of NATO. That would put NATO on the border of Russia. Putin doesn't like that. Putin has been making claims of atrocities in Ukraine against Russians living in Ukraine.
Short and not so sweet version. I'm sure it is much more complicated.
NATO countries are only doing sanctions. One American is sending one million rounds of amo. A Russian oligarch put a one million bounty on Putin's head dead or alive.
In my opinion it is an unjustified attack and more should be done.
