A new bill signed into law by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis now allows people to legally use fireworks on the 4th of July.

New fireworks law impacts public safety

Fireworks make people happy!

Stay safe and Happy 244th America! May it be a tad better than your 243rd...

it is now legal to set off all fireworks in the state of Florida. Only two day's the 4th of July and New Years. So go ahead and blow some stuff up.

Fireworks

No fireworks on site. Too much noise already (heh-heh) and spooks the dogs. Watch a fireworks display on your large T.V. with Youtube instead.

Good advice. I called the Sheriff's office yesterday July 3rd at 5:05PM. The person who answered the phone did not know the answer. He said a deputy sheriff would call me back. So far, I have not received a call back.

"social distancing" isn't

Always many that do shoot fireworks at various times.
Especially New Years Eve.

Whatever the law states....it is enforced about as much as the speed limit and social distancing!

required to be enforced as it is not a law.

Also, don't use hand sanitizer before you light a sparkler because the ethynol in it could lite your hands on fire.

Don’t bother, go ahead Make sure you have clean hands and wear a rayon face nask.

I don't know about your property but ours isn't big enough for fireworks, I might end up up burning down half of the neighborhood!. We don't have enough room for a simple friendly frisbee toss!

I can't imagine that fireworks would be allowed at residences in the Villages. If they are, you might want to consider if it's worth potentially making neighbors angry or the fire hazard. I personally think fireworks should be outlawed for anyone except for venues ran by professionals where there is plenty of room and safety measures are followed.

The Sheriff will say they're legal because in FL they are. You need to talk to someone within the villages or consult your local regulations.

Think about it. Houses are so close together. Is it safe? Get real. Can the fireworks. Commonsense.

Rich42 07-04-2020 08:08 AM

Given the small size of lots in the villages there is no such thing as shooting fireworks off on your own property.

TandHSTAR@AOL.com 07-04-2020 08:13 AM

I agree with the other post
Remember we have a large number of veterans. Keep in mind the noise affects anyone with PTSD. They have given enough for our safety and freedom. . Also the dogs have adverse reaction.

Pennyt 07-04-2020 09:00 AM

And where will your debris fall? On your neighbors lawn or worse their roof? In a neighborhood I used to live in, we had holes burned in our lanai screen and ash over the outdoor furniture from our neighbor's fireworks. It was a mess.

I don't understand how anyone can enjoy something that brings so much misery to so many. Soldiers with PTSD, Horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, wildlife both birds and mammals.
