LOL. I counted ten different restaurant recommendations for fish and chips. Good luck, OP.

Can I ask which kind of fish chips they serve at Blue Fin?
We like thinner fries and prefer smaller pieces of fish, although the last is not a game changer so much as the thickness of the fries are.

I hate to admit it, but, I really haven't tasted much difference between the fish and chips served at the sit down restaurants and a fish sandwich and fries at McDonald's or Wendy's. Wendy's fish, when available, is very good. And, the cost is about 75 percent less.

The fish is beer battered haddock. The fries are regular square cut fries. Smaller than steak fries, but not thin fries.

You don’t like fish, huh?

I like fish, but fried fish all seems to taste the same. I don't like it when the crust falls off of the fish when you eat it. I definitely prefer Wendy's fries to most of the fries they serve at the sit down restaurants. And, I am never impressed with the cole slaw at any restaurant.

Didn’t mean to be a SA, but I don’t know how you can compare fast food fish to something like Havana serves. If it’s cost you are looking at then I get it, I think. Of course I’m a fried fish person. You might try Chilean Sea Bass cooked in parchment paper, my wife’s favorite.

Just returned from eating fish and chips in Leesburg this evening at The Brick and Barrel and must say that I enjoyed it. I will return!

Most restaurants are just fine but we like Culver's, it's made fresh. It tastes that way and they say it is....

Most fried fish in The Villages is not worth getting. It's all the same, and varies from terrible to OK. The main issue is that it might be good one week, and when you go back, it's terrible the next. O'Shucks is the most consistent, fish is more on the OK to good as opposed to terrible.

If you're up for a drive, the fish and chips at Half Wall in Deland is the best I've had in central Florida. We've been there twice in the past month, and it's been very good both times. They have seasoned fries - not thick steak fries, nor thin shoestring fries, more like Wendy's fries, but with a seasoning on them. Prices are very reasonable as well. 76 beers on tap!

While you're in Deland, there's also a great brewery there called Persimmon Hollow. Fantastic beers and great atmosphere!

Clermont Fish House is the best. Owned and operated by a British couple and worth the drive. About 45 miin from the villages.
