There are times when I want to pass someone but can't because my cart is limited to 20 mph. The driver in front of me is slowing down a few mph every few seconds to look around or doesn't keep the pedal pegged. If I have a long stretch of path to safely pass I don't bother because the other driver may decide to peg his cart while I'm passing and I won't be able to complete the pass. I've only had this happen once and that was enough to just sit behind everyone after that. I'm not in a hurry but it's nice to just put the pedal to the floor and think about other things. Changing the rear differential gears would give me the speed I need to pass someone safety if the desire arises again. The downside is not being able to just put the pedal on the floor and just go with the flow at 20.
Does anyone know a guy that can swap out the gears in a 2020 Yamaha? Or the cost of doing it? Asking for a friend. |

Absolutely my favorite way to travel, number 2 of two reasons I moved here. I am happy with my little lot in life.

If the police catch you going over 20 miles an hour in your golf cart, it is a felony in Florida.
|
It is a large fine also 100 or $200.

While we are discussing multi modal paths, thank you to all the cart drivers who wait patiently to pass me, when I am on my bike. I ride on the far right side of the path, and it is a bit terrifying when a driver rushes by right next to me.
