While out fountain shopping, I found out from a fountain guy why no birdbaths here, only moving or flowing water.
Because of the fact that mosquitoes lay their eggs in still water, (like birdbaths), and they don't want any chance of encephalitis... :22yikes: That's the main reason they spray for skeeters... Hummm, I had no clue that was the reason... I guess I thought it was so we could be more comfortable outside. :MOJE_whot: |
I feel a little dumb....but

ROFLMAO - Roll on the floor and laugh my ass off.
Re the folks who fret about the "yard Nazis" but would be the first to complain about a neighbor who had a couple cars being rebuilt in their yard, had a washer/dryer/old frig on the front porch, or built an addition that blocked their view, restrictions and covenants are invaluable in a development like TV. I always assume that any changes done by an outside contractor that extend beyond the boundaries of the original house require review and approval. Your paver guy says no request is needed since this is an extension of an existing project. However, there are restriction as to what percentage of a home must remain grass/landscaping/whatever. Keep widening that drive and soon the whole yard is pavers. As to the fountain, yes they are legal and not considered lawn art (verboten). They do not even need to be operating, only operational. Have your contractors put in the paperwork. It's not difficult and should be included in the cost. And it's an extra check against hiring a scam team. |
