Another moral. Do not add to the job once approval is given. Anything added is not approved and may end up being un-approvable. That is what happened. Approval obtained for one side - decided to both sides after contractor gave him a "while I'm here" a discount. The original driveway was wide enough for a car and a golf cart to sit side by side. |

We have a wonderful life here in the Villages. I don't understand why people want ruing their lives worrying about little things like this. |
I wonder if he is into auto racing of some sort. A man I have known since childhood, with his neighbors’ approval built a four car garage behind his modest tract home. He builds supercharged Ford flathead V8s and drag races them. His garage has a dynometer in it which he runs engines on from time to time. I wonder what the neighbors think of the noise. Here is a video of an engine being run on one (not his). DYNO-mite – Engine Dynamometer Demo Video
Here is his website for any of you flathead enthusiasts. Roadrunner Engineering - Home - Supercharge Your Ford Flathead |

I did speak with my son last night who is presently in points unknown overseas and asked him if another Vet who moved in next to him in the Family Section, Oxford Oaks and violated a rule about an addition to his house what exactly would his next move be. His reply was simple. If the man or woman was a good neighbor they could build a Silo in the back yard. If they were a Nudge it would be game on. As a Non-Vet, I am inclined to support most Vets in action, not words. I do seem to remember this happening a while back within the last year but would love to read more about it. I wasn't lazy I really looked. Manabouttown I don't think you needed to post any link as we are just talking here and even though links and proof are commanded by some I don't think they are always needed between people who are just discussing a bad situation. What was the bottom line end of the story here? Did he place the Concrete and have to rip it up? If he lived next to us he could have used our driveway instead of going thru the expense and headaches and frustration he seemed to have experienced. This situation is a long way from a Beautiful Garage on a Beautiful House In a Majorly Beautiful Neighborhood. Speculating on a Dyno Tuning facility being installed is also a little excessive although if the reason for the entire problem here was personal then I think you just gave the owner of the house a great idea to even the score. The other post about ripping an entire home down in unbelievable, I believe it but WOW. I want to reserve my thoughts for now about alleged Payolla and the Soprano comment as I don't know for a fact that Butt Smooching or Favoritism is a fact in getting the proper documents to construct things in the south. I searched for that also and couldn't come up with any Thread. I could carry that further but don't want to be unkind or lose my posting priveledges on TOTV'S as some others have. Have a Great Day! :) |

It was a simple search to find the articles regarding the ARC, denying driveway extensions to TWO veterans...completed without prior ARC approval. One was dated March 15, 2019 and one April 12, 2019 (both on the site that can't be mentioned)...so no links. Here's what the 3/15 article says; Quote:
The 4/12 article says; Quote:
Here's photo's that accompanied both articles and hoping these veterans, get to keep their well-done and nice looking...widened driveways. :ho: |
P.S. - My "search" was done using plain old Google...not a specific site's search function. :ho:

I drove by this home and there are a lot of twists and turns involved just to get way back there in Tall Trees.

I just looked on Google Maps.................It is in such a remote location, not much traffic. This whole mess effects a dozen neighbors.

So at this point am I correct that my searches on TOTV'S about the Veterans Concrete Problems were not found in a search on TOTV'S? Good! I do not know of this other search spot as I am Faithful to TOTV'S and searched here because this is where the conversation is going on. I also notice that the THREAD IS ABOUT A GARAGE IN TALL TREES. I believe a NEW THREAD should have been started about the PROBLEMS that OUR VETERANS HAVE FACED.
That being said it appears that the Perry Masonry investigation about this extra situation (Vets) came to no conclusion as of this junction??? Correct??? Good!! I think we can all agree that when it comes to someone who risked it all for us and our country that they (Those In Charge) should do everything possible to accommodate every injured Veteran when it is reasonable! This seems reasonable. The Tony Soprano comment when not used in a Jocular fashion is a slur against Italians. The wonderful fun loving fantastic Italians who have passed through and are in my life would take offense to the idea that they are crooked, they are not. If it was joking that would be different. I don't think it was a joke. Back on Block, Life In The Villages is Great! |
Agreed !Certainly not something I'd take up my time on earth getting upset about ! ! I mean it is their lot/property. If they wanted to build on a home business, that would be a concern (parking especially, really difficult now with all the lawn people and large trailers, etc.)
