Does anyone know what the address is or what street the two-story house in Gilchrist is on? I’m curious as to how well it fits in?

So its different-- so what, every home in the villages looks like the other one-- i would love to have room for that garage

Good for them. I want more garage space and wished I could do the same.

If it’s within the property owners property building lines it’s no ones business

You know how they got it through, the guy has deep pockets and money talks.

This is a deed restricted community. There is a reason for deed restrictions. Good reasons.

The ARC is made up of residents of TV. Just what are you suggesting?

I agree. I don’t mind the extra width but the height competes with this residential community. It should never have been allowed in this neighborhood.

The approval of the height surprises me also. I can understand why neighbors don't like it. Unfortunately, the deed is done.

It's my understanding that the owner bought the extra large corner lot, then got approval to build the garages. My advice to his neighbors is quit stressing over something you can't do anything about. If he starts running a repair shop out of it, then you have a legitimate gripe. I have never seen where people fight over how a house in the neighborhood looks because they don't like it. Most people just think to themselves, "man that house is ugly" It's not your house, you don't have to like it.

When you buy a property, you buy the district around it. That is why I bought in an already established area. I’m not so good at visualizing other peoples’ dreams so I can’t buy what I don’t see. If my neighbor went all monster beside me I’d expect compensation from whoever allowed it to happen because that is not what I bought into. The rules exist to allow you to have a certain expectation. I don’t buy that it is a done deal, what was done can be undone. Maybe this particular garage is not so bad but ARC should be put on notice about it.

One huge problem with that philosophy is the value of surrounding homes just dropped because people find it an eyesore. You have a very small market of people who would want to live next to it and that may be someone who hopes to rent. Perhaps making reparations to the homeowners for loss of home value would make the situation more tolerable to them.

Grandstanding is in the eye of the beholder. Neighbors are upset by this addition and they have the right to an opinion and they appear to have first hand knowledge...........

Do not criticize something about which you lack knowledge. Simply grandstanding..........

It's on Amherst. About half way to the end. Not sure of number but it's not easy to miss. LOL. Been a porta-john in front for what seems like a year. The house looks over golf course.

Perhaps it was constructed to house a taller vehicle, like a class B RV. I don't see a reason to stop them. They own their land and should be able to house all their vehicles on it.
