RV's , V8/V12's , Boats (non sail) will be a thing of the past soon.

Right. We only need 300 million charging stations

Yes, the price of gas has gone up from what we had been paying just a few days/weeks/months ago. And the cost varies widely depending upon where you live in this country. Just to throw a small bit of calm into the equation however, we need to remember that the price of gas hasn't really jumped from the $0.53 per gallon of 1974 to $3.99 per gallon this year. A review of the price adjusted for inflation over many years as on this web page ( dollartimes.com/inflation/items/price-of-a-gallon-of-gas-in-1974 ) is interesting. I didn't want to create a hot spot but it will be easy to Bing or Google search it. In short the average gallon of 1974 gas cost the equivalent of $3.20 in this 2022 dollars. So, the current price is still more than it used to be in the good old days when we started suffering from the oil embargoes back then and many of us had started driving to and from our adult jobs. And the price on the pump after filling our tanks does hurt. But let's not jump off too tall a cliff just yet.

Putin and nobody else. Don't even go there.

So you think electric free. Electric going up also. You save about 1/2 if lucky.

Gas was going up long before Putin

Wall Street Journal
Shell bought 100,000 metric tons of Russia’s flagship Urals crude on Friday, according to people familiar with the transaction. It paid $28.50 a barrel below the price of international benchmark Brent crude, the widest discount on record. We are being duped.
Did your wife give you money for fuel?

It will be cheaper to buy an RV than a car.

If you insist on playing the blame game I suggest you start with
1. OPEC
2. Us the consumer - the law of supply and demand

Petroleum is priced on speculation driven up by Hedgefunds. Even if Keystone2 was finished and supplying fuel the prices would still be the same it’s a world market WSJ today “Shell bought 100,000 metric tons of Russia’s flagship Urals crude on Friday, according to people familiar with the transaction. Agreed

Much closer to the reason of the rise is
1. OPEC - their production strategies drive the hedge fund prices you refer to
2. Us the consumer - the law of supply and demand

The more production the lower the price.

MDLNB 03-05-2022 04:26 PM

Yeah, what happened to energy independence? The price was climbing way before Putin started his war. Some folks are so blind, that when they stumble, they blame it on the day of the week.

Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Shell and BP made nearly $25 billion dollars in profits during the last quarter of 2021, the highest level in 7 years.

The less demand the lower the price. <$2/gal Aug 2020 when we sat home due to a pandemic. Limited air flights, state border limitations, etc.
