Would you like the Ukrainians to surrender today so we can save a dollar a gallon and happily let Russia back into the international community as business partners and bankers?

Sometimes indeed freedom isn't free. Will you support a federal program to give financial support to those who need to use their vehicles for business use during this time of international disruption.. caused by Putin? That support should not come to me or likely you as we use gasoline for pleasure mostly.

A smartly-worded post which, not surprisingly, has elicited no response or comments from those unwilling to face facts. Kudos to you, blueash.

$3.39 in Gainesville on Thursday morning. Both cars are full, so Won’t need gas again until April. Guessing lawn companies will be hurting the most, after those who are still working

The cost to a country of not being energy independent, if it could be, sooner or later becomes high for any number of reasons.

- People point to the import of Russian oil but that has not been cut off for the US or, I believe for Europe - there is no less supply of oil.

- Some want to blame the Keystone XL but that hasn't changed the supply or demand in the last week.

The only thing that has changed is Putin started a war and the market decided that means there will be an oil and gas shortage and so the price should go up.

Two days ago we bought gas at $3.59, yesterday it was $3.79, and today $3.99. Did the stations sell so much fuel that they refilled their tanks twice already with more expensive product? Or, are they still selling the same fuel today but at $0.40 per gallon more than they were selling it for two days ago?

Good points, makes sense to me. The whole world is greedy.

There's places I have been overseas that have been paying $6-8.00 gal for years.

That's due to their higher taxes on gasoline...

Chi-Town 03-05-2022 11:21 PM

Paid 3.79 at Wawa today.

How or whom you voted for, has no control over oil price.
OPEC and the market control the price of oil.
