The cart crossing at Bonita is terrible....cars come flying around the corner off Morse onto Bonita and sometimes it gets dicey crossing there....the gate is after the cart crossing. Can't imagine what would happen if gates were all removed!

What gate. There’s no gate at either end of Bonita, mainly because there are no intersections into residential streets. The only cross street is Canal, with gates on both sides

Exactly!! If we didn't have the gates to slow cars down we would have many more golfcart accidents and fatalities. Keep the gates and the attendants. I like having both.

Even though the attendants can't do much, they're another set of eyes and ears for us.

That's even worse....I assumed the gate was further down.

Despite that, your point is EXTREMELY valid. Without gates, every crossing would be as dangerous as Bonita. Just watch what happens when a gate is broken and they put up a stop sign, especially when both entrance gates are broken. Cars race to beat each other to the merge behind the gate, carts can't see oncoming cars because gatehouse blocks the view. I wonder how many accidents occur due to this scenario.

Glad you brought that up, that is a great example of why gates (not necessarily gate attendants) are very important. I find going south at that crossing to be even more dangerous. Having a roundabout dump out of Morse onto Bonita, right before the golf cart crossing, is extremely dangerous. You can never trust a blinker, or lack of one, from the vehicles in the roundabout as a safe indicator of it being safe to cross. The only real safe way to cross is to wait until the roundabout is completely empty. It’s a very poor design.
