It took a couple of tries, but now it works great. I had to mount it on the outside of the mirror though.

Car chips

We have them in both cars - work great

Yep, great idea for old people. :ohdear::ohdear:

Was behind a car that went back and forward twice to get close enough. Wonderful.

:cryin2:

And they probably would have spent more time digging out their card and trying to get close enough to the pad to have it read...

Works well BUT you have to get real close

jedalton 02-07-2022 08:30 AM

Works great for me! I love it especially when it’s raining and I don’t have to open my window to use my gate card.

Rosemg 02-07-2022 08:44 AM

Yes, works great. Ed Ingalls 217 433 1394. $39 per car and they come to your home.

rsmurano 02-07-2022 08:49 AM

Perfect

My wife and I have a chip on each of our golf carts and our car. All work perfectly. We have a number of neighbors who have had the same experience. I highly recommend them.

I've had my gate chip for a few months and couldn't be happier with it. I love thinking about how much it would cost to replace my car window motor from excessive use!!

HUH? I have no idea what you are talking about. I wish they had those "8-sided signs" signs at all gates. I don't think I have seen an "8-sided sign" at any gate I have been through (except when the gate was broken off and they manually put it there until it was fixed). There may be some but not around here. What they do need is a "slow down, golf carts crossing" sign especially on the "guest" side of the gates where the red button is much further back and where new Villages drivers don't know a GC is coming across. Especially the landscape trucks.

That being said, if anyone wants a "side mirror gate chip" I'll give it to you for free and if you think it's worth it you can send me a thank-you gift of $20 and if you don't think it's worth it or don't like it keep it as a free gift from me.

Hello
Yes Id like the side mirror gate chip for free and i will give you a $20.00 thank you gift if we like it.

No need for a chip. I just used double sided tape to affix my gate card to the front triangular window. I approach the gate normally and slow to a stop near the gate card reader. The reader has no problem to detect my card and open the gate. I have been using this for months at all gates without problem.

We got one on the car and on the cart. Great for rainy days on the cart and I believe it should save wear and tear on the electric window on the driver's side of the car. Both work great once you figure out where to stop near the sensor.
