Got a cheap one on Amazon an it doesn't work to copy. http://https://www.ebay.com/itm/1647...mis&media=COPY

I am pretty sure this one will work. You also need to buy some 25mm adhesive discs to go inside the mirror. I would suggest sticking one on the outside of the mirror with duct tape and 3 more inside the mirror housing positioned in different positions (horizontal, vertical, etc.)

Looks like this exact duper isn't available but there are others (I think?) that are exactly the same.

Another thing IMO there need to be solid white stop sign painted on street at gate. When gates are down some people just speed right through without slowing down or stopping. With painted stops sign if they didn’t stop and hit someone they would be at fault for not stopping and looking if intersection clear due to entry shack creating blind spot to left.

As for the discussion about these not working, I think that some 'duplicators' were using old cards from people that no longer lived here, and these were removed from the system, therefore the copies would no longer work.
On a side note, I have been testing various gates and it seems the new readers easily read the cards through a CLOSED car window, and I have several other cards in the wallet.

In Phillips Villas, this does not work well. You need to get your car so close to the raised curb that you risk damaging your rims just to get the card to read through the window. I'm fairly certain that we do not have the new readers yet.

The readers are not new, the control boards and software are new.

Not all windows are created equally. The cards can easily be read through some, not so easily through others, and not at all for the rest. It is also likely that not all readers are placed at exactly the same place - some may be higher or lower and others may be farther from the curb.

If your card can be read through your window then count yourself lucky. That isn't the way they were intended to work and they don't work that way for many of us.

How close do you need to get with these small discs? Looking at them they state a read distance of 3-10cm... that's less than 4" at max read and that is not close enough for our reader.

For best function, I use 4 discs, 3 inside the mirror housing and one taped to the outside of the housing with duct tape. You need to get about 8 inches from the reader, but they work fine.

No way I'm putting one on the outside of my mirror with duct tape on a new car. It would look like crap.

If the mirror housing is black and you use black duct tape and trim it, it is hardly noticeable.

By the way, you don't drive a new car. Everyone drives a used car. LOL.

That's what I've found too, 6-8". I have a sedan and the mirror sits too low to read at some gates, notably the resident gate Morse northbound off north of 466. A buddy of mine has a jacked jeep and his is too high for most gates....although curb rash isn't a thing for him ;)

Tried your gate in my Tesla M3 today with a mirror gate card that I got from Ellie that worked fine. His card does a better job than the small round cards that I use in the Honda CRV. It doesn't cost that much to have them installed or do it yourself. It makes gate access a breeze!

If I were to do it myself, which card should I order? I can find the small round cards but I don't know what Ellie uses that works fine.

People here will tell you that the mirror card clones will not trigger the gates on the new systems. They are wrong. We've had ours both Pre and Post gate updates and they work fine.
