The doctors who monitor viruses at the cdc admitted the other day that thousands of people are still dying from the swine flu and other strains of flu from 10 years ago. At what point are you going to say enough is enough. I’ll take my chances. I have had family and friends contract COVID 19 all recovered with minimal symptoms. If your going to wait for this virus to be eradicated from society then you mine as well wear your mask and stay home forever.

First of all, I'm not your friend. People are still getting polio, whooping cough and measles, dying from drug overdoses, drunken driving and swimming too close to finishing lunch so what's your point? I never said word 1 about staying home, wearing masks or driving golf carts, you simply "spun" that onto my post to avoid what are facts. I simply said "get your facts straight" and stop minimizing what is going on. It would seem quite obvious why your "family and friends" contacted Covid if they have attitudes like yours. Do they know how many people THEY may have killed by spreading it? I am happy to hear they survived but again, what's your point? 200,000 have NOT survived.

You said "It has killed so many more people because so many more have contracted it than the flu." Well DUHHHHHHH! Thank you. On that I rest my case. Your "talking points" sadly sound so familiar.

People have been in contact with dangerous germs, viruses and bacteria forever. If you were elderly, if you had a lot of health issues, if you had a compromised immunity many, many things could kill you, hell the annual flu kills 60,000 people a year. If you don’t like the idea of people going on with their lives without fear then for God sakes stay home. The fact is that Florida’s death rate is now below 2%. I’ll see everyone at the squares and any other venue that has crowds. And by the way I’ll be happy to shake your hand when we meet.

I agree! I hope to see you at a Square very soon

Social distancing can be controlled in those environments. Social distancing will fall by the wayside at the squares. It will become a free for all when Rocky or Johnny Wild and other great groups provide the entertainment.

We are going to see Johnny Wild in a couple of days for a dinner show at the country club at Stonecrest. The tables are spaced apart and are very much within proper CDC guidelines.

Sorry, but social distancing at the squares will be impossible to maintain when a popular band is playing and folks will not be wearing masks while they are sipping on their adult beverages.

People go more to listen to the music and relax. Would be nice if the squares could open with the same mindset. Not sure if it’s possible though.

Has Johnny Wild or Rocky played at Edna's? I didn't think so.

EDIT: Just read on another post that Johnny Wild will be playing at Edna's. If that is the case, why don't they open up the squares? He draws a huge crowd and social distancing will be impossible to maintain.

That is a completely different type of venue than the squares. But, I'm sure you already knew that.

What is LSL ?

Lake Sumter Landing is one the three squares in The Villages. It is between Spanish Springs and Brownwood in betweenr of Morse Blvd and Buena Vista Blvd. LSL is, by far, my favorite square.

Of course, you are correct about that. The sentiment would be BEFORE being put on a vent. That is the last time before being sedated and unable to speak with the tube in your trachea.

Do you promise not to kill another human being if you become an asymptomatic carrier of this dreadful virus?

Funny that now the area without the Squares (Finney) has all the entertainment that used to be at the Squares.

Finney grill and Ednas on the Green have regular entertainment. Even Johnny Wild will be playing Ednas soon. It will be packed.

Seriously?

Mikef99 09-13-2020 02:09 PM

The mistake is not going on with life. If you do not wish to go to the squares, don't go. You can stay home which will also decrease the crowds. If you open one square there will be a crowd, opening all will keep people spread out more.

Just checked Johnny Wild's website and sure enough......you are correct. If TPTB are allowing this band to play Edna's and the place will be crowded. Then there is no reason why they are keeping the squares closed to entertainment.

Apples and oranges. No comparison between Edna’s and The Squares. Not even close.

Bars are open in Brownwood. Thought they were open in all of The Villages?

Johnny Wild will bring the crowds. That is the point I was trying to make. I'm aware Edna's as a venue can not compare with the squares.
