Noticed they were putting new soda dispensers and shields in at all the "Bait Shacks" at LSL this am. Might be getting ready for entertainment again? Wouldn't the bars needed to be opened first?

The bars in the squares are open and have been

Buckle up it’s going to get interesting!

Really?

There are at least seven 30,000 person phase 2/3 trials in the US.

Some will fail, some will succeed.

I'm one of the rats...

Federal health advisors predict four coronavirus vaccine trials backed by U.S. could fail

Really! Sounds like they don’t have a clue and are trying to tell you not to put faith in what they are doing. Read that article closely. Good chances of failure and they admit it! The flu shot in itself is difficult for the making as a different strain comes out and they say (that’s the reason your flu shot didn’t work) lol they have worked on flu shots for many years and your telling me that you will trust them to come up with a miracle concoction in a few months. Just what might be injected into your body? Most of us have read the side effects of medicines. I wonder what might be the side effects of the COVID-19 shot. Even the brains of this outfit don’t know. Some might say, “WHO CARES” and be the first guinea pig to get in line! At least if your so inclined to hurry to the trough and get yours, let the doctors, chemists, and nurses get theirs first. Amen!

Really? If they are they are breaking the law. Restaurants can serve liquor but free standing bars can't be opened unless they are also serving food to the same customer. They had been (legally) for a couple weeks then got closed. Don't remember seeing people standing at the bars at City Fire boozin it up..

As of 2 weeks ago:

State official: Bars, breweries could remain closed 6 more months due to coronavirus

I think "CDC guidelines" is just an excuse for foot dragging on opening the squares. There's dancing at Edna's on the green with Scooter and other entertainment.

For those of you yearning for entertainment, you could always attend the Leesburg Bikefest which was rescheduled for November 13, 14, and 15 - 2020. Just wear black, don't shave for a few days, and you'll fit right in. Still could be a tad risky though.

Totally agree. If the make the mistake of opening the squares before the pandemic is under control I hope they also open up multiple Covid testing facilities and put the ER on notice to get ready for the upcoming onslaught. I would rather wait to dance than risk experiencing what it's like to be on a ventelator.

Seriously ??? - your hysteria
Is not warranted. Going to The Squares is not mandatory. If you feel it is not medically safe - Don’t go.
But there are also many who feel it is time to resume all activities indoors and out.
If we wait until there is no risk of anyone catching this virus or any virus or flu or cold - that will be never.
Besides wasnt the Villages promise of entertainment, clubs, activities, classes etc - why most of us came here in the first place??

Funny that now the area without the Squares (Finney) has all the entertainment that used to be at the Squares.

Finney grill and Ednas on the Green have regular entertainment. Even Johnny Wild will be playing Ednas soon. It will be packed.

yeah, 7 cases out of 450,000 bikers- scary. What you have not figured out is - this is a bad case of the flu. Yeesh - if you are scared stay home and stick your head in the toilet. Let the rest of us who understand the risks are not that great go about our lives.
We have done the math and the risk is just not that great. 45,000 people die EVERY YEAR in auto accidents - do you not get in cars? Leave the rest of us out of your terror, we are not scared.

Signed - the majority who think Fauci is the problem.

45,000 in a year how about 190,000 in 6 months at the end of March there were only 9600 deaths.

Bars can open at 50% capacity starting Monday 9/14/20. Don't know if the shacks are considered bars.

. Thank you. Thank you for common sense. I am sick and tired of the hysteria over the virus. From birth we are subjected to viruses, bacteria, and germs. People have been in contact with dangerous germs, viruses and bacteria forever. If you were elderly, if you had a lot of health issues, if you had a compromised immunity many, many things could kill you, hell the annual flu kills 60,000 people a year. If you don’t like the idea of people going on with their lives without fear then for God sakes stay home. The fact is that Florida’s death rate is now below 2%. I’ll see everyone at the squares and any other venue that has crowds. And by the way I’ll be happy to shake your hand when we meet.

Chitown 09-11-2020 10:56 PM

Well my friend then you stay home. You drive around with your mask on in your car, you drive your golf cart with your mask on. It has killed so many more people because so many more have contracted it than the flu. Everyone wants to ignore that the death rate is now below 2% and dropping. The doctors who monitor viruses at the cdc admitted the other day that thousands of people are still dying from the swine flu and other strains of flu from 10 years ago. At what point are you going to say enough is enough. I’ll take my chances. I have had family and friends contract COVID 19 all recovered with minimal symptoms. If your going to wait for this virus to be eradicated from society then you mine as well wear your mask and stay home forever.

Hard to trust the CDC. Just another gov group that love to control it's people.
