.....Put 2 FEMALE Rats in the cage and together they would have

Yep. As wonderful as TV is, this is still true.

In Ohio too, mostly, but some folks have moved in from other areas. I do not recall being honked at for daydreaming at a stop sign or stop light in my whole life in Ohio.

And in Ohio people view stop signs as a place to stop.

In other areas many view stop signs as merely a suggestion.

Cart Rage in The Villages

The Villages "Toughman Contest" in the townsquares. Participants could drive their carts to the ring. All would need spectacular robes. All would need a theme, or a catchy name, like, The Wisconsin Whopper, The Minnesota Menace, The Ageless Wonder, etc. They could wear their sponsors on their robes, like, Viagra, Cialis, Preparation H, Bengay, Fiber One, Buick,Old Spice etc. All would have introductory song to the ring. Lets do this. Contact Morse immediately. Elderly pugilism at its best. Only in The Villages.

This is a great idea ... I especially like the notion of sponsorship. :)

Actually, after a while, everyone might realize how ridiculous and pointless golf cart road rage really is.

It's always comforting to have responses like this when you are using TOTV to report an experience. In one of the busiest streets in TV (Morse Blvd) at dinner time, I should have put my car in park, blocked the only remaining access for vehicles heading north (the two gold carts with fighting drivers blocked the other lanes), and done what exactly? Walk into the middle of this brawl? It would have been akin to stepping in between two large dogs fighting, both of whom were bigger than me! Come on .....think before you engage your fingers on here please. The police were called and responded quickly. I had no idea what prompted this altercation and therefore had nothing of any value to add. This was a disgraceful public nuisance incident not a robbery or shooting.

Totally support you, Bobuse. You did the right thing.

I love this forum, because it is so easy to decide who is reasonable in their approach to life and who is not.

raynan 03-11-2014 11:22 AM

Bobcuse,
You definitely did the right thing. They could have both turned on you and these days you never know what will cause a "brawl" to escalate to a shooting or knifing.

Kahuna: I made that suggestion two years ago to the district. We need a manner of identifying who is traveling on our multi-modal pathways

If I had come upon those two ragers, unlike bobcause, I would have stopped and tried to sell tickets to the fight and hawked it as a comedy

Although at first blush I agree with you, I remember that back in Ohio every time you registered something the politicians would use it as way to tax it. And then it was off to the races. I'm taxed enough and don't want to open the door to more regulation and the taxes that come along with it.

I agree. You took the correct option. As you said, there was no place for you to pull over without creating an additional traffic hazard.

I said it before, and I'll repeat it... you did the right thing staying out of that. And I like your turn of phrase, "I... therefore had nothing of any value to add." Amen.

If there was a violent incident, the police were at the scene as stated , there should have been a ticket or arrest. I can find nothing regarding this from any news source. I believe any assault on a person over 65 in Fl is a felony.

Could it be that the one attacked didn't want to press charges?

I know there is a law regarding over 65 assaults.
However, if someone over 65 starts swinging at me (just under 65) do I have to stand there and take it?

cquick 03-12-2014 05:12 PM

I think some of the road patterns along Morse north of 466 are just plain confusing! Honestly! something should be done!

My wife and I were in the car headed north on Morse Blvd around 4:25 pm today and as we came to a stop for the red light at the intersection at Rio Grande we witnessed a shocking and sad incident. Two golf carts were traveling north on Morse and one had moved into the right turning lane and the other was in the golf cart lane going straight. We didn't notice anything unusual until we heard the screech of tires as the cart going straight slammed on his breaks to avoid striking the cart in front of him. At the same time, the cart in the turning lane suddenly stopped right next to that cart and the driver jumped out and reached into the first cart and tried to grab and strike the driver. He was yelling something but we couldn't hear what they said. The driver being attacked jumped out of his cart and ran around in front of his cart and confronted the other man. They both raised their fists and the original aggressor took a couple of swings but the other man moved back and said something like "I don't want to fight" and "what did I do?" But the first man continue to be aggressive. The light changed and as we were pulling away (I couldn't pull over there) I could see them both rolling on the pavement. Other cars had stopped and we saw a police car coming down Morse so I assume it was stopped. Another case of apparent road rage gone bad. Very sad and disturbing to see this behavior on a public road here in TV.

In the state of Florida what the aggressor did is very dangerous. We all get angry at some other driver at some point but the man who was assaulted could have shot the aggressor. All that is necessary, in Florida, is he felt his life was in danger or he was about to receive grave bodily harm. This could have been the last day of this man's life.

:agree: You did the right thing. Morse Blvd. is extremely busy and stopping would have caused more of a hazard than a help. As others have said you never know who is "carrying" or not, calling the police is always the best option.

Way too much traffic and rudeness this year. It can't be all Villagers, can it?

Which way did he think you should go. LOL. I drove across the Paige Pl bridge today leaving from the square and some car came up behind me fairly fast and blew the horn. I just ignored him and continued to the light at 10 mph. After the light turned green he peeled out and went around me.
