You are trying to be funny, right?

Way too much traffic and rudeness this year. It can't be all Villagers, can it?

Just saying one shouldn't blame any group, as I just did, without knowing.

Love TV! :gc:

I am sorry for using the word snowbird -- should have been "village golf cart drivers" I cant see why anyone would be irritated when a golf cart backs out of a parking spot -- in front of an oncoming vehicle ( assumption )-----"A little courtesy goes a long way buddy."

As noted on page C1 of the Daily Sun (yesterday) 13 golf cart deaths in TV in the last four years. Driving a golf cart is serious business---very serious. RIP.

I don't know how many deaths were caused by full-time residents or part-time residents and I doubt anyone has those numbers.

Really, that's not the point. It's obvious that we have to slow down and drive our golf carts more carefully. I see seatbelts in the future ---for every cart. As far as "crazy" men/women, that is above my pay grade.

Always look back and check twice when backing a cart out of the parking spot. The way some clowns fly down the lot it only takes a split second. The cart is harder to see and the other driver is only focussed on a spot in the other isle he may be lucky to get to.

Last night I had my first encounter with road rage in TV, going through Turtle Mound (south) around 9pm. I was 6 carts back in a traffic jam, going about 16mph. The guy behind took exception to me leaving 4-5 lengths between me and the cart in front so passed me going into a curve at which point I blew my horn. When he got to the ramp at the tunnel going under 466a he slammed on his brakes, lucky I gave him 4-5 length courtesy. I stopped and he waved me around which I proceeded to do very slowly. He then got on my butt screaming as I slowly entered the tunnel. When we got back on the main path i speeded up to 22 and he went by me at 27-28, to sandwich in before the curve at BV, as the caravan was still going 16-17.

In the future I will let them pass, not hit the horn and give them lots of room. Rather have a hot head in front of me than behind.

If everyone in the Villages is for the most part retired....what's the hurry?

Unfortunately, it's not just cart drivers. The other day at Morse and 466, there was a line waiting for the left turn signal to go green again. The other light was green and some car pulled out of the line into the go-straight lane and turned left going west on 466. Like others say, "What is the hurry?" If you're late, just be late or leave earlier.:swear:

Is that the real statistic??? Oh my gosh I would never have guessed. Is that all from accidents? That's a huge # of deaths in a community of 100,000. Scary and very sad.

Hot heads rarely change

As mentioned before----"hot head personalities " rarely change after retirement. :gc: With around 50,000 golf carts and 100,000 or so people in TV, you are going to have a few "crazy" people.

Word of wisdom, never argue or expect anything rational from and idiot. Not only did the driver put you at risk but also himself and others. His cart is also illegal. Which does not surprise me.

I agree. All you can do is drive defensively just as in a car. I think the reason for all the jacked up illegal carts is these drivers know there is no speed enforcement on the paths and trails. They will only get caught when they forget they may be on a main road at some point on some given day.

It is a hard thing to not let an :swear: know what you are thinking when something like that happens. I am getting better at it, it is work in progress for sure. The issue with telling them what you think is they probably have heard it many times and simply do not believe it ....

I do not mind golf cart speeders. I feel like they know the rules and can make that choice. I mind dangerous drivers, tailgating, passing in crazy places with no regard for others, etc.

I have a dark spot for tailgaters, they make everyone's life a bit worse on what would be an other wise beautiful golf cart ride...

PS. Thank you for not tailgating.

This story is just unbelieveable!
Aren't we supposed to have maturity and life experience
that keeps us from behaving like morons?

What is the darn hurry????
Maybe these people should cut down on some activities
so they are not rushing through life and mowing
the rest of us down who are in their way?

I was just messing you Nitehawk. I think the whole world is going crazy and I am the only one that is ok! Drivers are drivers. I like to enjoy the view.
