It's nice to have it when ya need it.

:coolsmiley:I find it very interesting the amount of people that are tweaked over other peoples speed capability. My Streetrod goes 36MPH and my Corvette runs 180MPH. I cruise through TV in my cart at around 19 to 20 and never have any issues. I cruise in my Vette at the speed limit or around 5 over with no issues. The nice thing about having the speed capability is that when I get behind someone going 10 MPH in my cart and 20 miles under in my Vette I have the potential to get a different view. If you ain't the lead dog, the view never changes!:coolsmiley:

My friend got ticketed in her cart for going over the 20 mph speed limit. There was no fine amount listed on the ticket. She has to go to court regardless; can't send payment in. She will have to show certification that her cart has been modified so it can't exceed the 19 or 20 mph, whatever that law is. The county sheriff said if she does that, they MIGHT let her off with just court costs.

But it's a hassle.

Don't think that is exactly true. I don't think you are allowed to exceed 20 mph in the diamond lanes irregardless of LSV status.

Anyone help me on this?

tzangrilli 04-03-2013 06:36 AM

Not that hard to understand. If a vehicle that carries golf clubs and people is capable of exceeding 20mph it is not a golf cart.

Just curious - was your friend on the road or the golf cart path? Was the officer in a vehicle, motorcycle, or golf cart?:gc:

I'm pretty sure she was on a path, not a road, but I'll have to check on that and what the officer was driving.

I'm pretty sure that LEO's are only allowed to issue speeding citations on the public streets. The multi-modal paths are privately owned and there has been no agreement to allow speed enforcement there.

Have to check further. I'll see her next Tues.

We went out and took a spin around the area after reading your post. I had downloaded the speedometer app. Let's just say that my husband got rather annoyed when the app would beep loudly when he went over 20 (which I had set). Yep it is an annoying sound! LOL Made my ride safer!! :a20: :gc:
