When I was in college I lived within walking distance from the local tavern. I often found that rather than searching through the whole parking lot looking for my car it to be easier to walk home and come back the night morning to find my car sitting all by itself and very easy to find.

Assuming it was not taken

It’s even more troublesome when you arrive in your car and someone drives it back to your house and then replaces it with your golf cart!! 😉

Moving golf carts around parking lot

It's starting to happen more often > Someone keeps moving my vehicle in the parking lots after I park it. I'm not sure why they do it ? When I have my car, at least I can use the key fob to beep the horn or lights to help me find where they moved it to, but with my golf cart, I have to walk up and down the aisles to find it. I guess I can't complain too much because I can at least increase my step count, which for some reason has also been getting a lot lower. I think The Villages or local police should provide more security in the parking lots to help stop this annoying issue, which is clearly getting worse. Has anyone else noticed this problem, or have any other recommendations? :)

Add a golf cart alarm to your cart. No one will try to start it or move it.

Btw, I never heard of anything like what you described. I’ve lost my golf cart when I first moved here because all the parking lots looked alike. No one moved my golf cart.

Lighten up! It was just a reminder that as we all age, memory lapses occur. I thought it was a good tongue-in-cheek joke.

If you have Google Maps on your phone, there is a feature to tell it where you parked. Then when you come out of the store, it will lead you right to it. It's very useful when going to a large venue, such as the theme parks, a theater, or shopping centers.

If you are losing your car or golf cart there are apps you can put on your cell phone that will help. Look for the free app Find My Car. The apple app Find My may help. Also get some Apple tags and these may help

I guess most of the serious types here didn't notice the smiley face, bottom right corner.;)

WOW, thanks for all the recommendations. I’ve learned a few things from them: I don’t want to quit my day job (looking for doctors, finding my lost golf balls, losing at Texas Hold-em poker, reading TEMU advertisements, watching the world news on Jimmy Kemmel live, and listening to my wonderful wife of 61 years give me much-needed advice, to name a few).

Perhaps my brief venture into satire didn’t go over as well with everyone as I thought it would, but as a very senior citizen, I do believe you can’t take life too seriously; it's way too short.

BTW, some had asked for real information only, if you like satire, the Villages has hosted several shows called: My father is Italian and my mother is Jewish and I’m in therapy (a few other I’m in ….) that are nonstop laughter! If you get a chance, check them out. At his last show, he mentioned Netflix is planning a series on them.

BTW2, if your looking to kill some more time and need a Outhouse, do a YouTube search on
dadspet How to build a cheap outhouse.

Full disclosure, my wife’s assessment of it is “This is stupid, why in the world would you waste your time doing this,” and as usual, she’s right. You're fully warned!

Now I have to try and remember what I did with my cell phone. I know if I remembered the number, I could call it, but it's probably out of battery. I wonder what all this mail is piled up around my desk?

Didn't think the smiley was, "Hahahaha, this is a joke, enjoy!" Nope, thought the smiley was, "I'm a nice person asking for help and soliciting recommendations, please reply."

:D is usually laugh
:) is usually meant in good nature
;) is usually tongue-in-cheek

At least that is how I have always perceived these emoticons. YMMV

There's even a "Just For Fun" category for joke threads on this forum.

I did find it funny and knew it was said in jest. But since it wasn't in the "Just for Fun" section, I figured I'd add a "by the way - since you brought up the subject" tidbit for people who find it funny BECAUSE they experience it themselves, and it was ironic.

Come on, lighten up. This sounds like the beginning of a great detective novel—“The Case of the Wandering Golf Cart.” But honestly, it seems like the golf cart is just living its best life, roaming free like a wild stallion in the open parking lot plains. Maybe it just wants a better view? If this keeps happening, I say embrace it—start leaving a note on the dashboard that says “If you’re going to move it, at least leave me a beer and a snack in the cup holder”. You wont solve the mystery but you’ll get free snacks out of it.
