Any more progress reports? :)

Does anybody know when the OBCC restaurant is scheduled to open? TV is advertising a house for sale in Country Club Hills that is "close to the newly renovated Orange Blossom Country Club restaurant, pool and golf course, opening soon".

Why don't you call and ask Commercial Property Development. Now that it has been renovated, I bet they would like to rent it and are trying to do so..

When the renovations were first announced I thought the article said that it would reopen in October along with the championship course. Don't know if that is still the plan.

I would be very leery of any claims made in a real estate advertisement. We looked at a condo once in MI whose billboards broadly claimed LAKE VIEW!! We could not find the lake view. Turns out you had to go up to the third floor and look out a bedroom window, but it had to be after the leaves had fallen off the trees.

Haha! "Place a 3-story ladder against the house and jump from there to the nearby tree. It's only a short leap, but don't look down. Climb to the top of tree and use your binoculars to view the lake. Beautiful, ain't it?"

For those of you on live on the Historic Side, please keep posting on the progress of the revitalization for us wannabees. Photos are great, and when the newly constructed houses start going for sale, info. on that would be appreciated. In July I rented in Silver Lake, and I really enjoyed the home and the neighborhood.

I'v found that the descriptions in The Properties of The Villages ads are very accurate. Nothing to hide or embellish here.

Well, then, do you know anything about the newly renovated OBCC restaurant that the ad is mentioning?

There is work going on on the building. My understanding is that they don't want the new owners to open until the golf course renovations are completed. It would be a big disadvantage to have the country club open while the golf course is closed. But, it will be open. The Silver Lake rec center just opened after about a six month renovation.

Too bad about the old Tiki Bar. I guess the will be a poolside bar now.

So neighborhood and other diners are being held hostage to the improvement schedule of the golf course? Such a shame!

I couldn't agree more. It's bad enough there is no gym on our side of 441. It's a long haul to Laurel Manor!
