The idea that a woman driving a 4 door Mercedes must have a rich husband protecting her is soooo 19th century

Amen!

If he's her affluent husband, she's his affluent wife. The imaginary money belongs to both of them, not him.

Looks like the shoe is switching over to a man that is responsible to this accident not the women who actually did it! :1rotfl:

They now have her. Car found at a repair shop in Gainesville. It is in the news. 89 year old Villager. What a despicable, thoughtless and vile thing to do, getting out of the car to look at her victims then taking off!

Good!

Taking it to Gainsville, to me, seems like an attempt to avoid discovery. What an awful thing to do to innocents.

They let her out on $10K bond!

Dang. An 89 year old woman did a hit and run and then proceeded to drive her banged up car to a repair shop in Gainesville? Really?

I'm trying to envision an almost 90 year old doing that...unbelievable.

I'm betting she has no insurance, too.

Sounds like she got some assistance----like a ride back from Gainesville?

If you have a Mercedes, you'll get it serviced in either Orlando or Gainesville. The two closest MB dealerships.

She most likely used the Gainesville location for service etc. so she took it there.

No doubt FHP notified all MB dealerships to watch for her car.

But, was she allowed to drive home?

Maybe, but she probably got a rental car.

Actually, I believe Mercedes dealerships give you a loaner

I hope the national news does not get ahold of this story and use it to trash The Villages again...

Both were transported to the Ocala Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit. Bob has has been released, but Jessica has not fully regained consciousness and is receiving oxygen via ventilator in the ICU.
Witnesses report the driver, who stopped briefly at the scene, was a woman with white hair and possibly a cane, who was driving a white, four door Mercedes sedan. The car likely has significant damage to the right front and a broken windshield.
If you have any information that can lead to the identification of the driver or the vehicle, please contact the Florida Highway Patrol at (813) 558 1800 or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.

I am also a rider of a road bike and you always have to be aware of these idiots and the cars don't respect bikes under the law, so sad this happened and my prayers are with them.
