We get a lot of H2B workers at our country club at home. There is not a shortage of people trying to work here legally.

That pool you were building by T and D, not anymore
Your lawn care, not anymore
The driveway you were in the middle of installing, oh well
The yard that is messed up by your landscaping job, it may stay that way
The beautiful plants on your roads, done over with
That roof you had blown off by the storm, get a tarp
That house you contracted for construction, add a year

I believe the mass exodus from Wildwood and Leesburg triggered by this raid is not going to be quite the result you were hoping for.

You forgot to mention the sky is falling and the end is nigh. Or maybe, by clearing out the illegals there will be room for legal immigrants to come here work AND obey our laws, something the illegals broke by crossing the border

There are no "tens of millions that have invaded...(especially the last 4 years)."

"Tens of millions" generally refers to a number between 20 million and 99 million.

I would guess there are at least 20 million legal and illegal immigrants in the USA in the last decades, as that poster stated.

Not all, no. Many were smuggled in. The potato famine in Ireland in the 1940's, and again during the Troubles in the 1970's and 1980's saw thousands of "illegal aliens" here in the US. There are over 10,000 undocumented Irish immigrants living in the USA, currently.

The first years leading to WWII saw thousands of "illegal aliens" from Poland, Germany, and other parts of Europe arrive in the US. By "illegal alien" I mean "undocumented immigrants." They didn't have "papers" - they gave a name, which was usually changed and anglicized, told the people on Ellis Island who they were going to visit - which was never checked - and as long as they didn't show symptoms of tuberculosis they were allowed to enter New York City.

Thing about the Europeans though - immigration wasn't tracked the way it is now. So MOST immigrants were what we now call undocumented, or "illegal." The government even created a process to make them permanent residents. If they were fleeing the war, fleeing persecution, fleeing for their lives - the American government helped them to legitimize their stay. But they had to be here "illegally" first.

Between 1880 and 1920, thousands of Italian immigrants fled Italy and came to the US, many of whom were undocumented.

The difference is that all of those people you mentioned did not come here expecting free housing/food/health care/phones/etc

If you want open borders, first eliminate the welfare state.

One thing is a big positive for most, The Villages is not a safe place for illegal immigrants any longer.

The pain is self inflicted. If you break the law, you suffer the consequences. If one of my kids goes to prison, my grandkids are without parents. Needless pain inflicted on the family?

I heard they will now target any new pool construction that is currently underway. Including homes already built.

No, the illegal parents were deported, and they took their "legal" children back with them. Would you prefer that the young children stay in the US without their parents?

Seems to me that ICE concentrate on the soft targets, that is illegals who work.
Get after the gangs and abusers of the system, there are enough of them around, but that involves investigation and hard work. Much easier and more photo opportunities to do raids on the productive migrants, who get no benefits short or long term for doing the jobs others locals will not.

Not true.

The case you're most likely citing was regarding a mother who was being deported, who CHOSE to take her children with her, rather than leave them with family members.

Again... Not true...

I heard they will now target any yard with unmowed grass.

It does seem mostly for show with little or no substance.

The substance is there, some just aren't paying attention to that fact.

At home birth was very common on farms, family member enter birth eventually clergy signed the Bible entry, as live or entered date of death. As half breed Native American, doctors wouldn’t waste time to birth that child.

1930’s Farm life didn’t require DL, they were driving vehicles pre teens.
Three oldest boys joined military, in their teens, Dusters were highly recruited at young ages, to fly as military pilots.

My aunts married into military late teens to 20. Living on base, DL not high priority, many didn’t have access to a car.

If one has any in-depth knowledge of the South, and other parts of rural US, today there are still areas that home birth, is common, with very little outside contact other than family. My first encounter with a physician wasn’t until my 18th birthday

I did a google search and in 2015, most estimates were that there were about 11 million illegals.

I did a second search and the estimate today is about 11.4 million although FAIR says it might be 18 million.

Exact numbers are impossible but from watching the news the past few years, it is clear that a lot have entered.

Estimates of what illegal immigration costs range from $100-$150 billion a year.
