There's always an apologists for illegal aliens. The laws in place now are fundamentally different from the 1800s, and the "thousands" you complain about are a TINY fraction of the tens of millions that have invaded over recent decades (especially the last 4 years!). Once the illegals are deported, it largely will go away.

If they could pay for the boat ride over here they were legal. If they could not they could promise to work for a period for the person who bought their boat ride. And then there were those stolen from their lands and sent here for the profit of those who took them from their homes.

ICE will be mostly targeting new construction sites in Florida for the next 2 months according to the Tampa paper. There is no shortage of that around here.

My Kentucky grandparents (both had one parent Native American) did not have a birth certificate just a bible.
All of their children birthed on the farm, in 1920-35 didn’t have a BC. Just recorded birth in same bible.
To date 3 survivors of 6 Do Not have a BC, only family bible, from early 1900s.

Yet acquired DL & SS# in their 20s. My guess is today technically could be deported, because of lack of full legal identification, as to place of birth. Early Descendants of Native Americans usually didn’t have BC of live births.

I believe the mass exodus from Wildwood and Leesburg triggered by this raid is not going to be quite the result you were hoping for.

I have been wondering that myself.

My brother went out to one of the yard workers and gave him a twenty to take care of the weeds. We looked out there and the weeds were still there and the landscapers had left. My brother commented "I guess he did not speak English"! When money is involved I bet he did.

Many of the roofers, landscapers and the like around here do not look like they grew up speaking English.

If a hurricane hits this summer good luck getting that roof repaired quickly.

A few days ago, I was close to a construction site in TV. A food truck was there and I ordered some grub. And a large Coke. The server, apparently a bit deaf, asked if I wanted ice. I said yes. He didn't understand, so I yelled out "ICE!!!!". I then saw a bunch of guys running off roofs into their vans and scurry off. ... now it makes sense.

BTW, this is tongue in cheek folks.

I am still chuckling. It reputedly used to be fun to yell "Green cards" under such circumstances.
