I LOVE self check out and that's the reason why. I check prices as I along and I'm sure it's all done correctly at my own pace. I never use checkers anymore. That's one big thing I'm thankful for today!

I'm assuming you shop at Walmart. I never liked that carousel for the same reason.

The simple solution is for the grocery store to maintain a totally clear space for the items purchased and to ensure that the space is clear before serving the next customer. But, the space is often cluttered with other items.

our son lives in Texas and they shop at HEB for groceries. Happened to my daughter-in-law who left a bag at checkout. My son stopped at the store on his way home from work and asked the Customer Service desk if a bag was left. They opened a book that listed all groceries ever left, found his missing items in a left bag on the list at about the time she was there. Gave him the list so he could replace the items. I was amazed they kept the records! HEB is a really great chain! It was by far the best grocery store we ever frequented.

In western MA we have both Stop and Shop and The Big Y. We very much prefer The Big Y.
