But then it won't be golf cart accessible! :cryin2: We pay the most taxes and are obviously the MOST IMPORTANT people in the county. The new library should be built within TV proper and should be off limits to the school kids since they obviously don't know how to behave in a proper library. :rant-rave:

In fact, rather than wait for the county to act, the Developer should take some of those millions he's cheated us out of, or sell one of his yachts, or use the money he made from selling the buffalo to the meat packer and build a world-class reference library with every book ever published along with tapes, CD's, DVDs and anything else anyone would desire. :girlneener:

Ahh, Muncle... there you go, peering at the situation with an unglazed eye!
:1rotfl: Thanks for the observation.

BTW, when the area south of 466A is fully developed, it won't be far at all from the new library location. Perhaps a longggg cart path could be created to the new library.

Also, if a first class library is desired, what a great idea for the ever energetic Village residents to consider for fundraising and donations to enhance current facilities.

Munc, I loved your post.

(You might not believe just how much I loved that post.)

Could I please, please, pretty please, be the librarian at that place you're talking about?

I actually like that the school kids go to the library. Better than having them sitting around playing video games or getting into trouble. I'd like to do all that we can to encourage their use of libraries, for their sake. And, I like seeing the young people and having them around (in small doses). Like others mentioned, I just avoid the library right after school.

I am absolutely sure that Muncle is kidding.

This has been a very interesting discussion. My daughter is a librarian here in SC and is planning on moving to Florida in late 2009. To be near us when we get down to TV but also to be near Disneyworld...but that's another story. But, back to the topic, I am going to have her log on to TOTV and chek out this thread. I know that Sumter County is on her list of possible libraries to apply to when the time comes. Her library here is very very new and just wonderfully supplied in all areas. She would love the challenge of working toward improving a library in such a wonderful place as TV,

Ah Gracie et al, au contraire. I'm as serious about this as I've been about any other project to protect TV and preserve it from the barbarians. I will admit that some of the ideas proposed have great merit. A fund raiser could be a real help to Developer funding, what with the collapse in the used yacht market and the failure to realize projected profit from bison burgers. I have taken the liberty to submit a proposed design. Though somewhat dated, it retains the classic appearance so many of us associated with libraries.

And Boomer, I know your heart is set on being Librarian, but unfortunately we have a contract already in place. I'm certainly not going to be the guy who tells him he's fired.

I'm sure we can get you a Miss Zukas position as chief assistant and, should for any reason the incumbent is unable to serve . . .

Oh Munc, my heart was indeed set on running the joint. And now my heart...well...(sniff, sniff) my heart...my heart... it is broken. (sniff) DO YOU HEAR ME? BROKEN!

I had spent the entire afternoon shopping for sensible shoes and cardigans in every appropriate color -- navy blue, gray, brown, black.

And then, and then, I look back in here and find that my services are not needed.

That I am supposed to be some kind of Miss Congeniality!

Some kind of second fiddle player!

SO! MUNC! WHAT AM I? CHOPPED LIVER???!!!

(sniff)

Boomer
