I have a plaque that says: Family and fish start to smell after three days.

I guess you didn't play golf or go to a pool. :)

a

Or go into a rec center, or take a class.

The Villages is not a gated community. It's a community with gates, which means anyone can come and go as they please. You will be asked for an i.d. if you use the pools, the rec centers, playing golf, etc.

School buses in The Villages? Like Gracie, I've never seen one here, except on the main roads. Or in front of the schools.

I respectfully say that I think your post is a gross exaggeration.

I would be willing to bet a Coca-Cola that if someone had grandkids living with them in The Villages that someone would quickly make a call to the Compliance Department.

Just look at the number of complaints have been generated for lawn decorations!

There would a literal uproar over live-in kids.

I don't believe this to be true. Where are the "areas in here"? What villages or streets are you referring to? Maybe the the non-age restricted, family friendly areas that are adjacent to The Villages?

If you are in the water when a check for ID's is done you will not be asked to exit the pool and show an ID.

Greg Nelson 05-16-2015 01:42 PM

Actually I asked several times at Mulberry pool and was told not to worry about it...classes were very good..

JoMar 05-16-2015 02:30 PM

Our guests were asked at the pool.....once.

Is Mulberry a sports pool? If not, you were taking an unapproved, non-TV-sanctioned class started by a neighbor, and once in the water, you were not made to get out and show your ID.

If Mulberry is a sports pool, then you should have been made to show your ID at the door. If you weren't, some employee was not doing his job.

Greg Nelson 05-16-2015 04:41 PM

Mulberry is a big deep pool. The classes including agua zumba were professionally run. I did see workers moving the lanes but never once was I asked for my card. I did have it with me however.

So, did you have a regular ID, or a guest pass? Because if you just had a guest pass, you weren't allowed into a sports pool period, for any reason. I think you just got lucky. I'd stick with Mulberry if you come back, because everyplace else checks IDs.

My adult daughter and I were there a couple weeks ago on the LPP. We joined a water aerobics class at a sports pool (I think it was the Savannah Regional Rec Center) and no one asked us for an ID. My sales rep said that we were allowed to join any class or actitity with our guest pass. We went to our closest neighborhood pool 3 times and no one was there to check passes either.

BTW . . . we loved the pools, classes and all the rest of the fun we had! :coolsmiley:
