I was not suggesting anything of the sort. I just stated what was told to us; that the building of homes would not go beyond 466A. I'm not sure if that means the company would shut down, maybe move on to another location completely.

I wish I could but there is an influx of people who come up north and go to the venues up north such as the squares, stores and restaurants. Oh well, such is life.

We have learned that during snowbird season if we want to listen to music from a popular band get there early.

However it does seem that the longer you live here the less often you go to the squares

The way I look at it, that was the information at the time. They did not own the land south of 466A. The land would have been developed by someone and I'm sure glad it was TV. All you have to do is look at Beaumont. What a menagerie of different homes, apartments, ugly storage and car wash. Just compare that to the beauty of south of 466A. So, be careful what you wish for.

I guess no one asked you…. :-). We’ve had granite, quartz and Corian in our different homes over the years and we like Corian the best. Hated granite and the quartz over eight years has the edges bronze lightly and chipped/scratched when a bowl lid was accidentally dropped on it. Corian held up like a champ and is great as a shower surround too. We also like the seamless factor when it comes to sinks. Drop in sinks are a pain and dirt collector by the rim. Different strokes for different folks.

The Morse family did announce the end of the buildout at one of their community meetings years ago but I never put too much faith in that announcement when another nickel can be made.

You make a very good point that the land would have probably be developed by someone, even if it weren't The Villages.

The story goes that the developer had a chance to buy the land where Beaumont/Trailwinds is, but the town of Wildwood wanted commercial development and the developer wanted all residential single family. This was told to me by old-timers. Sweetwater Car Wash is a pretty good car wash, by the way.
