Its people like you that cause fights and murders to take place in public. All stores were told don't put your life in danger. Every once in a while you'll have someone that doesn't have a mask on. Leave them alone, where your mask and stay away from them and live for another day.

Forgotten Mask

Masks do nothing but reassure others that we are stepping in line with their unfounded beliefs. :ohdear: |
If your worried about persons not wearing mask, just use online ordering and pickup. They bring it to your car and you never have to interact with people

I shop at Walmart and Publix. I have seen many folks at both that are not wearing a mask. Doesn't matter to me. I wear one and if they don't, that's their problem. If you don't approve of the way they run their business, then don't shop there, for crying out loud. Besides, the so-called expert doctors on TV, including the Surgeon General state that you won't catch the virus from walking past someone. They all say that it takes a prolonged presence in close proximity to an INFECTED person to be at risk. Sure, I guess they could cough on you as you passed them, but how often does that happen and what is the chances that they are contagious?
I don't fault you all for being paranoid about your health, but take care of yourselves, don't rely on someone else to take care of you. Like I said, if you don't like how someone manages their business, then don't shop there. Publix is open to everyone, not just those that think they are entitled elitists from the Villages. |
Publix has delivery service. Problem solved.

Mask wearing
The mask rule is not legally enforceable. Please don’t blame employees or the police because there is NOTHING legally anyone can do. Please smile behind your mask at all those people who ARE wearing masks. There will always be a minority of people who think only of themselves...not the safety of others. Shop, keep your distance, and leave as soon as you can...and keep on doing the safe thing.

That’s why neither my wife or I have been inside a grocery store or drug store since April. We do all our grocery shopping online for drive-thru pickup at either Walmart or Sam’s Club.
I know that Target offers curbside pickup, but with limitations on most if not all refrigerated or frozen items. But whatever service they offer can’t match Walmart’s. |
I always assume that 99% of those who do not wear masks are making some kind of statement — proclaiming that they do not give a damn about public health or their own, and/or they have been convinced that Covid is a hoax and that the stats aren’t real.
I am quite weary of the comparison to the flu. We have a flu vaccine and we know how to deal with the flu. To make that comparison is to grasp at straws. But the word “flu” is just another buzzword that has been programmed in as a tool of division. One of the big differences between Covid and the flu is that Covid is often leaving serious damage in its wake. Those who think they have recovered could be looking at a future with pre-existing conditions caused by Covid. Stores cannot expect their employees to confront people over masks. In these historic times, which seem to bring a fresh hell with each day’s news, the person confronted could be one whose anger has been stoked to the point of doing harm. Perhaps, those who think our store employees should be put at risk should go to Publix or wherever and sign up to be a bouncer. Working with the public can often be a nightmare, even in normal times, but there is nothing normal about the ugly times we are going through now. There are some angry, knee-jerk reactors out there. A virus needs a host. The calculated division created in this country has rolled out the Welcome Wagon for Covid. Science says that the lame argument that masks don’t help is wrong. Everybody, by now, should have seen those videos that show the distance the virus can travel is definitely encumbered by masks. Masks and hand washing are all we’ve got so why not try? — (See paragraph 1.) By the way, for the record, I have been thinking that flu season won’t be as bad because more people are more conscious of health hygiene. Time will tell. |
they are afraid of potential violence
