Well, hoping that she keeps her birth name and preferring she doesn't hear a phrase he finds objectionable, doesn't equal "Angry". Even so, let's say her were angry about it. Humans are able to be angry about multiple things at the same time. This thread just happens to be about this topic and not "everything else that's happening in this crazy world right now". It's not mutually exclusive.

Okay. 😂

Good grief! 🙄 What a silly thing to be angry about considering everything else that’s happening in this crazy world right now. Maiden name is literally what it’s called, and it doesn’t feel in the least bit wrong to me, and I’m a very modern woman.

Paying women less for doing the same job as a man did, didn't sound wrong to people, 30-40 years ago.

"Oh, she's only a woman, she shouldn't get paid the same".

How does that sound in 2025? Times change.

What does this have to do with my comment? Geesh! 🙄

Even better find a man with the same last name as your maiden name. Then you’ll match your birth certificate again.

Thanks for this laugh! :clap2: It would make it easy, wouldn't it.

Gosh now I'm thinking back when I was married it was required to take a blood test. Anyone remember that? To make sure we weren't closely related.

Like some have posted,go to the courthouse FIRST and speak to the clerk. This may save high attorney fes.

Thank you so much! I'm turned off by paying an attorney to help me with this. I know there are many details to keep track of if I do change my name. I will check at the courthouse first step, thank you!
