I had heard the was going to be a covered area in the parks for shade.Does anyone know if this is true?

Wow, it's about time. Double Thank's to all involved for making it happen, it's beautiful ! And a Thank-You to Don for the great picture of our newest dog park, again, I have to say WOW !!!!

And that is just the section for small dogs There is an adjacent section, same size, for large dogs, a nice winding walkway from the parking area and a great view of Lake Deaton(?)/marshes.

It is a really nice, peaceful area.

Do a search on dog parks. There are all kinds of posts finding fault with the other parks. I predict the whiners will complain about this one too. Just wait!

Hopefully that will not happen, because the residents had a lot of say in the development of this park.

There are faults with various dog parks in the Villages. Too small, rules very lax in enforcement, and with the Paradise Park dog park it is still mostly dirt.

Doggie Doo Run Run is still the best in size, there is some enforcement of rules but they seem to go on a case-by-case basis taking into account the dogs' and people's personalities. They know the people and dogs that go there as they take a very active role in eventually getting to know them while also giving them space.

I will be interested in visiting the CR466A dog park though probably just to scope it out when returning to or from Brownwood.

Where is it in relationship to Brownwood?

Of course he is correct . So much so that you could not find anyone who has been here longer than a week who would be willing to bet against his prediction .

The only question is : How soon after the " official opening " of the new area will it take before someone begins the first Thread and Post complaining about one or a multiple of issues .

Now in " Vegas " or " London " one just might be able to create a series of betting opportunities such as :

1] Timing of the first complaint .
2] Subject of the first complaint .
3] Ultimate length of the initial Thread .
4] Subject of the first " We Need a New Rule " Thread or Post .
And so on .

When is this park scheduled to open???

Brownwood is at Buena Vista and 44.....Atlas Park is to the west of Morse on the southern leg of Moyers Loop about a quarter of a mile beyond the Bellglade CC

Since I am the secretary for the RDOG3 group, I will speak for all of the board members and the RDOG3 members with a huge Thank You. We all put our time and effort into this dog park. The main person to thank is Diane Ferguson. Without her dream, determination and devotion we would not have Atlas Dog Park. John Rohan needs to be thanked also. John took his time to meet with us on many occasions to get the dog park established. We are very happy and proud of Atlas Dog Park. Read the Rules and obtain them. Our dogs will be happy and our dog park will remain beautiful. Look for the Grand Opening of Atlas Dog Park soon.

Thanks for the picture, it looks really nice.

I agree that each District should have their own dog park.
However it's great that The Villages finally recognized the need for one nice large dog park for residents.
Too bad it couldn't be more central, instead of at the Southern boundary, but "don't look a gift horse in the mouth".
It's in a great location for new residents. I sincerely hope that it's thoroughly enjoyed for years to come!
