Have you thought of having a tar and feather party?

yes in the street permenantly. We move the chairs off the street to the lawn and they move them back into the street. We have contacted the owners listed on the Villages rentals.

if all the neighbors are up in arms about this, you could all get together and park your cars in front of the house that they're renting...which would force them to sit in the middle of the road....then keep score as you play "dodge ball"

hitting an empty chair - 2 points

causing someone to jump out of the way - 3 points

getting the finger for a near miss (counting coup) - 1 point

being sworn at - 1/2 point

hitting anyone - minus 6 points

backing up after hitting someone - minus 8 points on top of the minus 6

game usually ends when someone scores 21

Good luck

it might be better that they smoke their cigs out on the street. Perhaps less ciggy smoke wafting into the neighbors' lanais?

Nah, us "Big City Folks" sit on the "stoop" when drinking...

At least that's what we did when I was going to school in Philly...

Try parking your car there

Sounds like fun, set up a ticket booth so folks not on the block and watch and cheer for their side

We have contacted the owners listed on the Villages rentals that we finally found. Thanks.

Your problem isn't with the renters.... its the owner who rented the house. however, let it go... they are short-timers and will be gone soon enough...

Unfortunately, it will be a long month (hopefully, that is all) - your best recourse is to have t you and your neighbors know what terrible tenants they were - TAKE PICTURES of them on the street smoking, take pictures of the chairs on the street (WITH THEIR HOUSE IN THE BACKGROUND).

An old expression. I believe it was actually done. Imagine HOT TAR poured on your bare body. Would be like hot melt glue all over your body. Then, assuming your survive, you would need to remove it from your burnt skin.

I am regularly spooked at how easy it has always been, throughout history to create a mob.

Ah, that was a tongue-in-cheek comment. The past, on the other hand, was real.

Im still trying to determine what the problem is? Smoking outside? Or a couple of lawn chairs on the street? What exactly is upsetting?

I do not get why there is a problem.

OrangeBlossomBaby 01-06-2022 02:24 PM

If these chairs are blocking traffic, then call Community Watch. If they can't take care of it, then call the NON-emergency police department phone number.

If the chairs aren't blocking traffic, then eh - who cares really. Some drunk neighbor in a golf cart will likely run over the empty chairs eventually anyway.

^^^ What he said...

So how does 2 chairs in the street effect you waking up in the morning and enjoying the day. Can you still get in and out of your driveway? I do not see the issue and the owner will be happy that the smoke is not getting into the house.
